Probably only way you'll find a new Honda Maxi Scooter is to buy a new (old stock) SW now. Think my local dealer still has one. |

| Thanks every one, Just looking for the next generation of scooter. Looked at BMW but not a BMW drive components. Not sure why BMW put out a scooter not using a BMW engine or transmission. |

I believe the engine is a BMW design manufactured by Kymco, the same engine is used in the BMW i3 car. |

| Thanks, I would buy a newer Swing but the only thing wrong with my 04 is come cosmetics. My wife said the old SWing runs too well and I do have to agree. Previous owner must have liked laying on the pavement. |

| Kymco is building engines for several motorcycle brands including Honda. From what I've read they have one of the most modern, computer controlled plants in the world. I certainly have no complaints with the engine in my GT. There are some other BMW bikes using Kymco built engines too. |

Gosh, If I could only get one of those green and white Kymco Hats.

| BMW can rake it in by selling a BMW badged scooter and charging bmw prices for rotax parts. |

| I really don't care who builds bikes as long as performance and reliability are good. I've owned many over the years and haven't had any real problems with Japanese and German machines. Unfortunately I have had problems with an American brand in past years. One major change in longevity and reliability for motorcycles and scooters has been the advent of water cooling and electronic ignition. Water cooling reduces the range of temperatures an engine experiences during operation. That allows parts to be made with much closer clearances. An air cooled engine has to be built with clearances that are much larger since there's so much more expansion and contraction of metals during operation. A brand new air cooled engine often has bearing clearances as large as a worn water cooled one. Computer controlled machining has also made a HUGE difference in longevity. Older engines used to be hand fitted because of variations in manufacturing of critical parts. Now modern machining can come right off the machine fitting nearly perfectly. |

| I just was researching the new HONDA line of maxi scooters. The line is being blurred between scooter and motorcycled. When I looked at the Honda Integra 750 wow that is a change in transmission and chain drive. Sort of looks like a scooter but that where it changes. The NM4 at first looked a little weird but love the features it has, not sure that windshield will work for long. I would get a new left over Swing but the prices are quite high for a 2012, 5 year old machine. |

| I understand why the Swing was not changed for many years due to its reliability and just good over all looks. With Honda replacing the old clutch and drive system with the new automatic transmission and chain drive I fear the Swing and us old riders will fade into the sunset. |

| I think the same thing is happening with the Goldwing. The 1800 has been produced now for sixteen years pretty much the same except for some minor cosmetic changes. I expect they're in the process of phasing it out. I don't know what Honda could produce to replace it but it does need updating. It's competitor the BMW1600GTL, out performs the big Wing, has more features and is cheaper than the current Goldwing. |

| I'd choose a Goldwing over any BMW car or bike any day. Ride it 6-10 years and have very few problems. Many problems with BMW cars, MAINLY oil leaks from everywhere. Parts big $$$$. Service big $$$$$
2013 SW NEW for sale $4799 in PA. Last one maybe. Track + Trail State Collage.
BMW Bring Money With. PA. Expression Dutch or German if you choose. WITH. Big Money Wilham. |
