| $2800 out-the-door price for a 2006 Silver wing with 20,500 miles. Good condition. I checked it out, rode it around, everything felt fine.
The only question is... is that a good price? Thanks. |

| That's not much of an Introduction to the ladies and gentlemen of this fine forum, in fact it isn't one at all. |

Well, officially, I am not a Silver wing owner yet, so I can't really introduce myself as such. But once I buy one, then I can do a formal introduction. Nice to meet you too. |

| Welcome to the forum. There is a tradition on this forum to ask that people introduce themselves here properly. You are probably like many that find the forum and immediately register and jump in with the "is this a good price" question. No worries.
You found a nice forum.
The price / mileage is ok. Some have done better / worse but it is all about the condition of the motorcycle.
Tire replacement, brakes and the condition of the belt are the variables that we don't know about. That is up to you.
I wouldn't say that is an "investment price" but no Silverwing will be such. Maxi scooters are a lost motorcycle group in America. They seem to go down in value a little faster than most other motorcycle types. Saying that, how much can you lose on a $2800 investment, verses a $25,000 new V-twin.
If you like to ride motorcycles and like a dependable one..... the Silverwing is a good choice. Don't mind the rattle or two. Just enjoy the get up and go.
If you do buy it. Come on back and join in and share your experiences with your new to you maxi scooter. There are some of us here interested in your opinion. |

| As far as price, check the tires are not dry rotted ($280) to replace. Seat is not ripped ($450). But based on other bikes in the 600 to 800 CC range that's about normal if in good condition. As a used bike I rate Honda as good as BMW motorcycles. Extremely dependable, long lasting and really a nice all around bike to have. |

Kinda high price for a 2012. I paid that much for a 2013 two years ago with everything extended warranty. |

| Hi all My name is Larry live in Northern, Il I have not posted on here in a long time although always enjoyed the groups postings. I was wondering I have had my Silverwing 600 (no abs) since 2005 (made in 04) It has very low miles (little over 2000 ) been garage started on regular basis obviously ridden very little. Ive been told low mileage makes it less valuable, It starts on 1st click, New plugs last season neverr dropped. Rides great. I get the tires might need replacement although no visible cracks or dry rot. Any idea what fair market value would be for my wing. Thank you |

| Hey Larry, do you have a service history ??, have you replaced/serviced any fluids besides the engine oil ??, coolant, brake fluid, rear end fluid, belt, etc. All those are not only mileage interval, but also time due, usually every 5yrs. ??, if no ?? and your tires are old, it affects value and could be a safety issues. With all that said, IMO, a well-equipped/serviced/excellent condition 2005 "may" sell for approx. $2k, in the other hand if you have a long list of need to do, maybe $1k, is a 19 year old scooter !!.

| Hi Larry (from Northern Illinois),
My Silverwing is a 2005 as well. Bought it just after finishing the "course" and think a great deal of the machine. Tough and dependable. I may have paid close to $3000 but the mileage was low and only a few scratches on it. I think the purchase was in about 2015.

| Mike, IMO $3k was a good/fair deal in 2015, the scooter was just 10yrs old. |

Mileage VS time is hard to define. 19-year-old bike can have many issues if services and parts overlooked. Most problems are with the fuel tank and rust, pump. Always fill tank after last ride in colder climates with E0 or add stabilizer but that never happens fuel goes bad lately with Ethanol stuff.
Brakes are another issue old fluid and sticky parts.
