| Got my 2002 Silverwing on Saturday so today (Monday) I decided to go for a nice ride. Put about 30 miles on the scoot and enjoyed it. Went from Warm Springs up to Greenville Ga., then from there to PIne Mountain and across Ga 190 back to Warm Springs. Ga 190 is a 12 mile stretch across the top of PIne Mountain and is a favorite of bikers in the area. Lots of twists and turns and up and downs. Loved the way the swing handled and I was going thru some 35 mph curves at 50 with no strain. Still getting used to the twitchy rear brake but it won't take too long. I'm happy with the scooter so far. Still have to replace the windshield and get a backrest but that's about all.

| That first ride is always the funnest. If funnest is actually a word. I've had my 08 SWing for 4 years now and really like riding it. It surprises a lot of "real" motorcycle rides. |

| Good on you Lew. When you got back from the ride, were ya wishin' it wasn't over yet? When I go for a ride, I find that the more I'm enjoying it, the more I search for detours or places to stop and admire it with local scenery (meaning photos). YMMV
Dale: funnest merriam-webster & Oxford reference the word. Cambridge does not. |

| Congratulations on the Silver Wing.
Just a tip for the twisties: You get the best weight distribution and handling in twisties if you bring your feet back and put them flat on the deck and lean forward just a bit. On the high speed sweeping turns, it can get a bit wobbly if you don't do this.
Sometimes, when I've been too long without a ride on it, I think about getting a different bike to replace my 'wing. I get the idea it's boring. Then, I go out for a ride and kick myself for even thinking it. This is the best all-around bike I've ever had. It does everything reasonably well, and several things extremely well.
Reasonably well: - Low speed stop & go - High speed interstate touring - Fuel economy (relative to other 550-600cc bikes)
Extremely well: - on-board locking storage - local shopping - non-stop & go heavy traffic - suburban riding - country highways - hot weather riding |

Although I still am open to adventure on two wheels, the Swing keeps me from white knuckles on the handlebars and allows me to enjoy the ride in so much more comfort. Yesterday I took a short grocery getter ride in 34 degrees. Loved it. Didn't want to get off. High winds didn't push me around as much as I thought they would. |
