Trading my 08 Goldwing for a 09 Swing next week, confirmed the deal today with the dealer. Previously owned a 03 swing that I sold this year. Had bought the Goldwing in hopes that my wife and I could travel, but that did not work out, so I had been riding mostly solo. Looking forward to riding the swing again, the 03 was the most enjoyable bike that I had ever owned.

The only two mods that I will be looking to do at this time is a shield replacement and backrest upgrade. On my 03 I had a Givi that I was fairly happy with, except for the backdraft. and I had two bars fab. to raise the backrest. Do you feel that there are better options out there? I am 6'3' 34
thanks,
Lee

Lee,

Congrats on your new SWing. I think it is a great bike and lots of fun too. You may try www.scootertrap.com and www.twtouring.com for mods. There is also this thing on ebay for your seat that is only $25. Just go there and do a search for "Silver Wing" and scroll down some and you will see someone selling brackets that are bent that raise the backrest up. Take some pics and show us your Swing when you get it.

Dennis,

Have you thought about making/selling the seat brackets for the Silver Wing? It seems it would be really easy for you since you are so good at designing things.

Just bought the brackets off Ebay that raises your backrest. Looks like the same ones that I had made around 5 years ago. By the time you buy the metal and have a machine shop cut, bend, and drill 1/4 metal, 25.00 that inc shipping is not a bad price. thanks for the information.
