| Most of us know the downfalls of riding in the rain and one of the most dangerous situations I have encountered is water flowing (dripping) down on the inside of the face shield. As dangerous as riding on wet pavement is to start with we ALL need to be able to see clearly. Tape the gap along the top and sides of your shield with 3m painter's tape...blue or green. When no longer needed it removes very easily and leaves no glue residue on the shield or the helmet. You might be thinking to yourself...whaaat? Just try it and you will be a believer....a safer one. Ride Often! |

| The Arai SZ open face had that problem in rain, moisture forming on the inside of the visor due to the totally inadequate rain seal with the visor closed. Bad enough in daylight, downright hazardous at night, I've used tape to seal it as a desperate measure, but I shouldn't have needed to on a top of the range helmet from Arai.
When choosing a helmet it's always a good idea to look to see if when the visor closes, it pushes down and back against the rain seals. They do on Schuberth helmets. |
