| Just bought a new ... NOS ... Silverwing on Friday. 2012 with 15 miles, off the showroom floor at Southern Powersports in Chattanooga TN. My 1st ever NEW scoot/motorcycle. Been a Burgman rider the last 60K miles. Looking forward to leaning the scoot and learning the bike from this site. It now has 126 miles after the ride home. And it's been christened b/c 40 miles of that was in the pouring rain:-) Been riding the fine roads of middle TN, and surrounding states since 2005, on a variety of bikes. Thanks for the site! | Hello. Thank you for your introduction. Welcome to the forum. I recognize you from your posts on the Maxi-Scoots forum. You'll find lots of help and friendly folks here too. Well, we do have a couple of resident curmudgeons. They are old guys who have a lot of experience but do tend to Harrumph a bit.

| Welcome Sirkitrider to the best SWing site on the net. I think you'll enjoy your SWing as much as we all have. I have an 08 SWing that I had converted over to a trike this winter and really like it. I've had it for about 5 years now and had to get used to going from two wheels to three but it's been a fun experience. And just to set the record straight I'm not one of the resident curmudgeons Tim was talking about. While I am old I've never Harrumphed. Sorry Tim, I couldn't help it... |

| Hello Sirkitrider Love your big smiles posing with the new SW. Why not? One very common SW accessory is a Givi windshield mentioned often by members. My eBay bought '09 had one installed along w/stock. Givi's the way go, will provide even more smiles! Ride safe

Yup, and you will be able to identify them pretty quickly. Just swallow the bitter pills of the know-it-alls and you will really enjoy this forum. At 60,000 miles, you probably got great service from that Burgman and will be able to bring us some good comparisons/observations as you continue with your new SWing. Welcome! |

Thanks for all the welcomes guys and gals:-)
Yes, I did get great service from the Burgman's. The Silverwing seems to be a great compromise between the Burgman 400 and the Burgman 650. More power than the 400 ... less bulk than the 650. I found the 400 to be a bit under powered in certain situations. The 650 is super smooth ... smoother than the Silverwing. But the Silverwing power is comparable. And less hassle with belt replacement and CVT repair. Just under 1000 thus far. I've added a Givi screen, mirror extenders, Givi topcase ... considering a Corbin seat soon. |

| One month anniversary:-) 15 miles at purchase... now has 1500 miles! Longest ride to date ... Wednesday did 241 miles with a bunch of Goldwingers. The Silverwing ran with the big dogs just great. Aside from the fairing vibrations I'm enjoying very much ... waiting for my Corbin seat to arrive. Thanks for this very helpful site. Sirkitrider |
