Just a quick intro. Been a biker since 1975, so very much a silver rider. Left th Royal Navy in 2006 and at the time riding a Yamaha thundercat. Got a job in Kingsbridge which is 30 miles away from Plymouth UK , on some fine country roads. Wife said, the bike goes, you'll kill yourself. Now in 2018, I got the 'itch' again so started looking at a triumph . The good lady told me she would never go on that. A little later we saw a silverwing pull up. Driver and passenger both around our age (60 ish) . The good lady "now that I will go on" . So a nice silverwing was purchased and I love it.

Silvercellist and mohawkwarrior, welcomehe abord the board to both of you. Silvercellist, I strongly recommend picking up a paper copy of the Factory Service Manual. If you're patient, sometimes a member here sells one or you can pick one up on CL. I buy Factory Service Manuals for all of my vehicles as I like to "write in" side notations in the actual manual that I use for future reference. i.e. things like wrench sizes, torque specs, shortcuts etc. where the manual doesn't stipulate which is quite often.

To mohawkwarrior: welcome welcome welcome

It would be less confusing to post a new intro and not have two people on the same post. This old guy is easily and often confused.

I sent a request to the admins to split the posts.

Welcome. Your lady has good taste. Heck, she picked you, didn't she? And you will be so happy that she picked the SWing.

Welcome MohawkWarrior to the best SWing site on the net.

A happy wife is a happy home. I always got the last word in every argument with my wife. "Yes Dear".
