Been a while since I posted. My 2007 silverwing has been very dependable since I bought it. Put about 7000 miles on it. Only change oil, changed tires to Metzger feel free, and a battery. No complaints. But I can't get my mind off the new Royal Enfield Interceptor. It is such a simple bike more like the 60s Brit bikes than the new triumphs. Can't wait to see one here in Tennessee. Has anyone seen the bike in person?

First no, but have seen a Himalayan at dealer in Chattanooga.

Question for me is are they any good? As new Royal Enfield customer, 1957 Indian Woodsman (Bullet)....it was complete piece of crap. The stuff from India has to be better. Wonder what the price will be for the twin?

From what I've seen it should be about 5800.

Yup, something under $6,000. Three-year warranty with free roadside assistance! ABS standard. Six speed. 47 HP. 60+ mpg. Oil cooler. It has been said that there was some solid research done on the new 650s to support their warranty. Nice classic style continued. Maybe finally RE has built a bike that won't need a tool box as a required accessory, but it's hard to not look at those beautiful bikes, and now maybe a more dependable model. Love the chrome option in the RE classic 500 and 650 models. The 650 will do the "ton" (100 mph). But I do not like the foot position; the acute knee angle is too tight for me for longer rides.

I always admired those side-car kit models but too under-powered.

Another bike that I would have in my "Jay Leno" garage.
