Hello all

A few days ago I placed a deposit on a shiny new black Silverwing. All being well, I pick it up next Tuesday. I bet it rains ... or worse! Rolling Eyes

I'm trading in a 7 year old Burgman650.

I'm known to few here and I recognise a few other names from the X9 Owners Club (known there as Big Ears).

Any questions? I'll have loads no doubt.

Hello Shendy

I (hope to) collect the bike on Tuesday from Chiswick Honda. They offered an acceptable trade in for my Burgman and are just down the road from work, so servicing should be easy.

I too rode little last year. More this year with any luck. Mike O and I have a few ideas up our sleeves. Watch this space...... Shocked

So you're not the 650 Burgman owning Colin B still on their Members List who joined for a couple of months in 2009, who used to display an I.A.M. badge on his signature, and then went over to the Burgman Riders UK forum then?

Yes, one and the same. I suppose I should have put a whistling smiley next to my reference to Muppets.

I was a member for a while, when it began, but I found it .... how can I put this gently? .... rather juvenile. I believe that it changed management and that many members were deleted. I assumed I was one having not visited often. It may also have changed style since then.

I was also on the late "Tscoot" forum, but found the "colourful" language not to my taste. The "F" word is sometimes useful exclamation mark, but should not be used as a comma!

The above, and the (rather sedate) Maxi Scooter Riders Club, were all spin-offs from the X9 forum, with largely the same clientèle and much repetition of posts. I stayed with the X9 forum as it was the first and I made a some good friends there - a few of whom are also here.

New bike; new forum and (I hope) new friends.

EDIT: Apologies to all for the potted history and the spelling mistake - wot I have now dun propper.

Hi
Yes I think they have got smaller but only by very little. This is not to make more profit as everyone thinks but the cost of ingredients and everthing else has gone up alot in the last few years. Water, gas and electric has rocketed and the factory uses alot every day.

Hello Duke,

I used to go to the Ace every Saturday morning for a regular meeting of the X9 Owners Club, but a change of employment means that I have to work many Saturdays.

I'm afraid that Mike O's question above has relevance (long story).

Perhaps Mike, Laurie and I could arrange a joint meeting with you.
