| I'd like to replace the in-tank stock fuel filter with an outside the tank fuel filter...I just dropped the tank just to replace the filter and it's an involved process. I can not seem to find an aftermarket fuel filter and the Honda part is $50.... Has anyone done this mod on their Swing? What is a good place to buy a replacement fuel filter? Thanks |

| I guess Honda put the filter on the pick-up pipe to protect the fuel pump ? |

Not sure why they did that but I'm going to try to fit and external filter and give it a try...Not too many spots on the fuel line I can fit an external fuel though. Most of it is metal lines. |

Has anyone done this mod on their Swing? I'm pretty sure that that same filter was used in earlier model Accords. But not under the same part number. Take that filter to a good NAPA or Auto Zone to see if they can physically match it. IIRC there is a good NAPA over on Rt 73 in/near the McKinleyville section of Elkins Park --thought it may have been in Burlhome. They were pretty helpful when we were trying to fix a filter issue on a NC700. Or take the filter to the parts counter at a local Honda dealer or to a good local Honda shop to match. A good parts guy or mechanic would recognize it. Dunno where you'd fit an external filter though. BTW that metal fuel line is under 40-50 lbs pressure. I hate to think of what would happen if a makeshift filter connection sprung a leak. Tim |

All of the above. Clean the tank and you won't have another issue again with proper storage. High pressure needs fuel lines made for that and most have different clamps than normal screw type. Leak on hot exhaust will cause a fire. I don't see that much rust on pump, not enough to worry about. Most newer bikes and cars only have the pump screen and nothing else. |

Well said all of you!
I was just an idea, not a very good one indeed....
I did go to AutoZone and PepBoys and they couldn't help me with the fuel filter....Neither of them stock much motorcycle parts besides batteries. They have no listing of a Swing fuel filter. I might have to locate the nearest Honda dealer.

| Bike Bandit or Cheap Cyle Parts often have our parts and can beat dealer prices on some parts. |
