| Hi everyone, As I told you in my introduction post ( https://www.silverwing600.com/t10863-new-member-here#110648), I am a new owner of a black SWing. By the way, pictures are in the intro post. I picked it up from the previous owner and it had minor swirls and scratches on the surface. For now, I haven't decided on the best way to get rid of them. I know I can polish the scooter, but other than that, is there a solution that will at least temporary fill in those swirls? or polishing is the only option I have? |

| Depending on how deep the scratches are a LIGHT buffing may help, Black while beautiful shows those " defects " more than other colors.

| Ray I agree with oldwingguy black is the worst colour for showing every Mark & defect. If you can't live with them then a quality polish such as autoglym on a powerhead may help.
Otherwise ask a quote at a professional vehicle detailers as the small amount of plastic may not be to $$$ to get done. |

100% true, folks. Yet I like it in black, and picked up in this color understanding the 'risks' haha I was wondering if you folks can tell me something about swirl removers? I see there are many of them avail, I was looking at ones that are specified for scooters and bikes, like https://www.motorcycleid.com/presta/swirl-remover-mpn-133608.html I tried to find a good explanation of how these removers work, but they just say 'swirl removers', and do not specify exactly what they do. Are they a kind of abrasive, like polish? Or they fill in the scratches for some time? |

When polished black is an awesome colour my wife's Beemer gleams after it's annual bath.
Never tried swirl removers but have used polishing products onheads when mates had access to motor trade
Try toothpaste on a test area, sounds daft but I've used it on the underside of yolks to remove light rust and believe me it makes old fashioned enamel baths sparkle but obviously is slightly abrasive. |

| Don't know if you can get this stuff or something like it across the pond but it gets good reviews for cars in the UK. Not sure if it'll be ok with plastics though. https://www.poorboysworld.co.uk/shop/poorboys-world-ssr1-super-swirl-remover/
