Am I trying to figure out how to post here. Name is Paul from Davenport, Iowa. Think I'm buying a 2012 wing with 4900 miles, $400 from a dealer. User name is Gustav, him being my Poodle. Howdy all!

$400.00 ??? I would be very leery of that deal, especially coming from a dealer. Check EVERYTHING.

I agree with Pastor Ron. $400.00 doesn't sound right.

From a dealer? Must be a typo, $400.00 to get your attention, but the real price is $4000.00; which, IMO, sounds closer to an actual price for a low miles 2012. It would be a good dicker price to start off with. Good luck, let us know how it works out.

Jay.

Hello Gustav. Welcome to the forum.

As Pastor Ron said, be very wary of that $400 "bargain". While the Silverwing engine is pretty much bulletproof, the plastic body work isn't. You might want to check with Partzilla.com to estimate the cost of replacement tupperware. You can always ask here for advise --in this case, before you buy.

BTW, You piggybacked your Introduction on someone else's so I split the Topic to give you your own space. Again, welcome to the forum.

Tim

Double whoops! $4000 is the correct price, and I'm kinda slow computer wise, so thank you all. I had a bmw c 600 sport, think I'm going to like the 'Wing much more. At this time I have a '79 cx 500 custom Honda, '83 cx 650 custom Honda and 2014 bmw f800 gt. Think I'll keep the bmw and 500, sell the 650.

Welcome Gustav. $400 for a 2012 SW with 5000 miles? I'm glad you sorted it out.

Your post took me back to my CX650 Eurosport. A troublesome bike but like the SW, it felt unique and it was fun.

I once rode a CX500 and it scared me! It didn't even like going in a straight line so roads with any kind of a corner were to be avoided. Maybe it's something you get used to? Anyhow, welcome.

Hello, Loosebearing & Silver Wing Guru, actually I the cx500 better than the 650, 650 is like an electric motor compared to the 500, twist, go, no flat spots, torque all the time. Guru, giving my local dealer one more chance, offering $6000 out the door.

Welcome Gustav! You have found an awesome Silver Wing forum. Just to give you a heads up, I would offer $3250. for the Wing and see where that goes. The market for them is pretty dead, they might come back with $3500. Good luck.
