If anyone has the original OEM brake pad thickness number I would appreciate it, front and or rear.

I searched service manual nothing on pad thickness only wear. Little groove in center of pad is minimum wear indicator. If it's not visible time to replace pads. I'm guessing 5-6 MM new.

Ok, so I checked the EBC catalog. They show their FA196HH pads applicable to both ABS and non-ABS model Silverwings as well as for both 256 mm and 276 mm diameter rotors. The pads are 9.8 mm thick. HTH.

9.8 mm then. You got me thinking and took a look at my front pads about 4 mm left on inside pad.
Ordered a new pad set OE Part # 06456-MCT-026 . I bought a pair of front and rear brake rotors on EBAY last year used but like new. $60 for both a good deal. Brake parts are a wear item even rotors.

7-10 days or so I'll measure them. Needed an air filter too bumped It $$ to free shipping.

Spring service time soon. Brake fluid, coolant, diff. and engine oil change.

New front brake pads are here. Used a tire tread depth gauge use to measure pads a bit less than 5mm of pad. The whole pad with shim measures about 10mm. Looking for a number please. Img_2032

Your SWAG is good Smile I'm helping a friend get his GL 1500 ready for sale, pad thickness in the OEM service manual is 5 and 6 mm pad thickness, betting the S'Wing is the same.

Given Mech 1 twa’s exact measurement of the OEM pads, I gonna suggest that that 9.8 mm measurement I quoted from the EBC site included both the backing plate and the pads.

Sorry for any confusion.
