I also managed to find some chopped tomatoes AND some kidney beans at last. I've got the onions, the garlic, the cumin, the paprika and the stock cube which I've gathered over the last few days. Hopefully, tomorrow, I'll find some minced beef and some fresh chillies, then I'll have all the ingredients to make a chilli....yummy...can't wait. Did I forget anything? |

| I read last night that the Mexican company that brews Corona beer is ceasing production of it. So that has started panic buying of the remaining stocks of Corona beer, there were a few photos of customers In Mexico City supermarkets with trolleys piled head high with the stuff. In future you may have Corona cartels in the US smuggling it back into Mexico. |

| "Took the car needed more for the week than SW can hold."Can't remember the last time I drove my car. I start it most days and let it run until it warms up and turns itself off (Prius Hybrid). The Silver Wing and its 46-liter GIVI case has handled everything I need to carry for my bi-monthly trips to the grocery store. I ride my motor bikes every day, 30 to 50 miles on the Burgman 650 mid-morning and the same distance on the Wing in the evening. The only time I need to come near people is the infrequent stop for fuel. I carry surgical gloves and a mask, using the gloves for the keypad and nozzle. I add a layer of paper towel in front of anything I touch on the pump. Also wash my hands with soap and hot water before and after my bike ventures (and never touch my face). This is the dry season in Florida. No rain with temps in the 80's by day and 70's at night. It's pretty much paradise for riding, which has been a real sanity saver for me. |

| That letter from Boris finally arrived today, and I'm off to the pharmacy to pick up my monthly meds. The pharmacy is about a mile away from home. Should I take the car... no I can't be bothered, get the Forza out and do the long detour thing, I can't be bothered getting dressed in up riding gear to do that either. Shall I take the push bike, I suppose I could and it's exercise if nothing else.
No I'll walk, that's exercise too, I haven't been away from the house for a week now and my sanity is fine. It's a nice day to get a bit of sun on my legs, and I'll give any other pedestrians I see a wide berth.

| I received an e-mail from Sainsbury's this morning; I have been prioritised for on-line grocery deliveries as I, too, have been identified by the Government as a 'vulnerable person'.
I rode to Tesco this morning - 20 minutes each way. I favour Tesco, not least because the one I go to is huge so that it's easy to keep one's distance from the other shoppers whereas the local Asda is far less so and the only big store available for those who have no transport of their own. Tesco is very well organised now, too.
As yet I don't need shopping done for me so I think I should leave the 'helpers' free to support those who do.
I walked up the road to post a birthday card - less than 5 minutes - and it was glorious; warm, sunny and shorts and T-shirt weather.
Edit: I've just spotted this on the BBC News Website:

| I've just returned from my walk to the pharmacy, I must have crossed roads and streets at least a dozen times just to keep well away from others, which I expected and didn't mind doing at all. I thanked the lady in the pharmacy for their efforts during this lockdown period, and I'm grateful for the work all essential workers are doing, all I have to do is stay at home, stay safe, and not overburden the NHS. Walking past homes I could see on windows the rainbow drawings children had made thanking the NHS and other essential workers like postmen, refuse collectors, and delivery drivers. They also deserve our applause at 8pm on Thursday nights. In fact it was refuse collection (bin day here 'oop North) and one of my neighbours little girl had left a drawing thanking the bin men stuck to the bin lid in a plastic cover, along with a bag of sweets for them. |

| I will hang on for a bit; having seen how many hoops one has to jump through before even being able to place an order I will carry on as I am.
I hope 'they' take you on as a Blood Rider.
I, too, have enjoyed the challenge of avoiding close contact in the street and supermarket; in fact, I seem to have exchanged more friendly words and camaraderie (I hate that word) with fellow-wrinklies in Tesco and fellow-walkers in the street.
I am aware of my neighbours, most of whom I've spoken to at least, and the others I've see passing by. They are all friendly and we all responded to the Thursday clapping in a very neighbourly way. I cheated with the rainbow as I have no colouring pencils so printed one off the Internet.
Every cloud has a silver lining or so it seems.

Trouble is, as far as we know, they never seem to catch anything - apart from idiocy top-ups! One thing I have noticed though is the varying traffic flow day to day. Cycling round the area most days, (bearing in mind I live in quite a rural location) one day the main roads are almost deserted, the next busy. Can't figure that one out. |
