Flu and the common cold are both respiratory illnesses but they are caused by different viruses. Because these two types of illnesses have similar symptoms, it can be difficult to tell the difference between them based on symptoms alone. In general, flu is worse than the common cold, and symptoms are more intense. Colds are usually milder than flu. People with colds are more likely to have a runny or stuffy nose. Colds generally do not result in serious health problems, such as pneumonia, bacterial infections, or hospitalizations. Flu can have very serious associated complications.
FLU shots , jabs, sticks whatever your choice but the vaccine is NOT a live vaccine therefore doesn't pass the flu on, getting sick latter is a matter of something else and from the symptoms as said very similar. Neither of us here have had the flu in many years and seeing how shots / jabs are brought to us at our local senior center at a no cost basis we don't even have to go to a doctors office to do it. One thing noted is how many of our paramedics are getting COVID -19 those folks contact more people that are sick everyday above and beyond what the rest of us do. Help them, sanitize and practice social distancing as they call it.
