| When I purchased the scooter this Feb. The owner sent me a link to a service manual that I have since mis-laid. If one of the forum folk could send me a link to a service manual that would be excellent the scooter is an 08 wing the current issue is well it sounds like a belt squeak at a low speed engagement when cool. the belt and rollers were replaced just before I bought it and maybe 2,000 miles ago. the scoot has less than 10 K miles on it another owner suggested looking to see that the nuts were tight and that the variator wasn't glazed. I really want a manual in hand before digging in. I am pretty good with Kymco's but Haven't been in the Honda's yet. |

| A belt squawk starting out can usually be stopped by running the bike against it's brakes to polish the pulley faces. I bought my '08 which had a pretty loud squawk on accelerating from a stop. The easiest way to cure it was to take off like I stole it, Lots of initial acceleration on starting out. That got rid of the noise which is no longer happening.
I bought the bike from an older woman who had ridden the scooter with a gentle throttle twist. That tends to build up rubber on the drive pulley. Starting out from a stop with a good solid twist on the throttle prevents the drive pulley from slipping on take off. Try holding the brakes on and going to full throttle for a few seconds a few times with a half minute between throttle twists. It cleared the noise in my bike's CVT and it hasn't some back a year and a half later. |
