| This is my first post.
My name is Peter, living in Central Scotland. I've been riding 2-wheels for around 40+ years now, I currently own a 2008 V-Strom DL1000 and only six months ago picked up a 2005 model Honda Innova 125 Scooter which has got me into Scooting etc...
Only recently I've got the 125 Innova sold to a friend and have always loved the look/styling/design of the larger Silverwing 600 Maxi-Scooter's. Within the past week I went and viewed a 2007 (ABS) Silverwing with 16k miles on the clock as a private sale, black in colour, it was described as immaculate condition but closer inspection it was good condition. I took it out for a ten mile test-ride to get the feel of it and really enjoyed the plush ride.... along with the powerful engine - wOw. It puts out nearly 50 brake horse power which is superb, so smooth with it to being a parallel twin. This 2007 model Silverwing has a standard 12V power socket outlet located inside the left lockable glove box which is really handy of course.
I couldn't believe the physical size compared to my wee 125 Innova, huge in comparison. I'm 6' 1" and quite chunky so a larger machine will suit me much better. We eventually came to a hand shake deal money wise regarding the Silverwing, so I'm hoping to collect it a day next week. Really looking forward to it taking up space in my garage alongside the V-Strom.
It's the fully automatic Twist n'Go that appeals to me a lot, reliability and storage capacity is also very important. I've heard a lot of good things about the Silverwing machine.......can't wait to it arriving so I can check it all over and have it sitting in immaculate condition as best I can.
Really looking forward to sharing my views and photography along the way, and of course picking up tips and advice from youse Silverwing folk! Is there a section here on this forum to share/show photographs of your Silverwing does anyone know please...?
Thank you.
Best regards; Peter Scotland

| Hello ishmac. Great introduction. Welcome to the forum.
Regarding your ‘adjustable butt stop’ question (elsewhere), yes, the butt rest is adjustable via the (5mm?) hex bolts under the seat. You may be able to knock the butt rest back another 1/2 to 1”. But given your “chunky” 6’1” frame you might consider removing that butt rest all together or raising it to serve as a back rest.

| Hi Peter from just south of the wall. Like you I've kept my big trailie thing, but the sad truth is I do more miles on Scootie. They are different things though so both are staying. |

| Hi Peter and welcome to the BEST SWing site in the Solar System, as far as I know. Not one of the other planets have contested me on it so I guess I'm correct...so far. |

| Pete, I switched to Silverwing's about 4 years ago and would not go back to standard bikes. It just does so many things well. Wife agrees this is the most comfortable bike we have owned. |

| Hi Peter: welcome to the club. Am from Stirling, but sold my SW a few years back... just left with memories, photos, and a model replica! Wow, I do miss it - hence eyeing stuff on this website. Enjoy the membership and camaraderie. And the great SW rides in the best part of the world. |
