| Hello Lew. You’ll have more luck finding riding friends if you post in an appropriate forum rather than hijack another topic. I moved your post. |

| Why would you want to meet new 'riding friends' in your area, complete strangers who despite owning a Silver Wing could be asymptomatic and infect you. |

Perhaps he is not as worried about a virus with a 99% survival rate as you are? Or perhaps, like me has already HAD the virus and is in the clear. |

I didn't say I'm worried, because wearing face masks, using hand sanitiser, and social distancing measures seem to be working where I am. Although like a lot of other UK cities we had university students acting like dickheads during Freshers week putting us in Tier 2 Restrictions. I even upgraded my iPhone so I could use our NHS COVID tracing app. Having had the virus doesn’t guarantee you immunity from getting it again either, or suffering the long term effects of damage to your respiratory system. There’s now four of the six in our maxi touring group here in York now own and ride the same version of the Forza 300 as me. These are the guys I've cooked pizza for and sat at their tables enjoying their company and hospitality. Since March all that has changed, we have met up although mainly we've used social media to keep in touch. We're all way past the stage of wanting to play follow the leader round the roads of rural North Yorkshire to some place that does fried food. |

| Thank you for your replies, I just want to network with some fellow silverwing owners to swap ideas and parts and of course taking all Precautions during these difficult times. I enjoy working on my silverwing as much as riding it.
Have a wonderful day! |

| Happy Christmas to you too Floodk9. Keep at it, you will find some interested riders but you might need to include some other forums. I organised a couple of rides earlier in the year. Only a few turned up but with this pandemic going on that was for the best. Rides were out in the sticks and coffees were take outs from cafes so it was easy to do the social distance thing and have some much needed social contact. If you play it right the risks are minimal and the chance of a little social interaction can be a lifesaver for some people.

| Live your life. WE all ride it's a a risk but worth it. Never been in FL. sorry can't join you it's cold up here in PA. big snow coming. A few negative people here doesn't take long to see them. Stay heathy. A lot more people are dying from untreated things from this Pandemic because of not getting care for other conditions. No headlines there, but true. MY 2$ |

Stay heathy. A lot more people are dying from untreated things from this Pandemic because of not getting care for other conditions. No headlines there but true. MY 2$ Come on mate, even a negative bloke like me has been to Florida a couple of times and I live a darn sight further away from the Sunshine State than you do. It's rather nonsensical saying you're sorry can’t join the the OP in Florida as there's big snow coming and using that as an excuse. As if in the real world you would actually pack your scooter, get your gear on and ride according to my Via Michelin app between 1066 and 1121 miles from where you in are in PA to Lakeland FL. Plus the expense of food, fuel, and accommodation for outward and return journeys. Care to elaborate in detail what untreated conditions that people are dying from that in greater numbers than COVID-19? |

Sadly there is a truth in this. If you are one one the small percentage who will become very ill with Covid you will need hospital treatment, or pine box. What people forget is that small percentage becomes a big number as more and more people become infected. This takes up hospital resources from other things. Lockdowns, masks, social distancing, everything is about protecting the healthcare services until a treatment is out there. |
