I bought my 2003 in 2019 with 4200 miles on it. I have joined and consulted this site a few times and realized I hadn't introduced myself yet. I have put 4000 miles on it already and beside having the dealership I bought it from replace the original tires, I am learning to do my own maintenance on it. I have already done final drive oil, regular oil, air filter, crankcase breather, foam doohickey in the outer cover over the drive belt. I will replace the spark plugs soon. I will also figure out how to flush the coolant soon. I don't know what all the dealership had done so I'll do as much as I can. Last thing I am considering is replacing the Vbelt since it's likely original. No issues at all on the bike. Runs like a top.
I love this bike! During good weather this is about the only transportation I use and do my grocery shopping with it to the amazement of people who see just how much I have learned to fit in it.
I just wanted to say thank you to those that have posted here, especially you wrenchers that have saved me time and effort with your knowledge and experience.
