| Welcome aboard the board Mike. Make "Search" your friend and the rest of us will fill in the blanks where we can. Obtaining a Factory Service Manual for your SWing is a very good investment too. |

| Thanks for the welcome, Sonuvabug. I have already purchased the owner's manual (2010) model from eBay and the 2002 - 2013 Service Manual. I am just looking for SWing to purchase, but right now I am busy getting my 2014 Honda Forza 300 ready for the 2021 Scooter Cannonball Run.
Any suggestions on what year to purchase? I am think 2010 -2013 if possible. |

| Hello LM15. Welcome to the forum
I have a close friend who ran a Forza300 in the last Scooter Cannon Ball Run. We did a few mods to it for the SCBR; added a new windscreen, driving lights, frame sliders at the exhaust, an aux fuel tank and raised the butt rest to form a back rest. Probably other things I’m forgetting st the moment too.
The frame sliders proved their worth when he went down riding the Mokey Dugway gravel. It saved his exhaust from serious damage.
He was all set to ride this year’s SCBR but the “now you see it, now you don’t “ scheduling prooved too much. Instead he’s currently touring the country on this Goldwing after riding straight out to Provo Utah for the start of the 2021 Iron Butt Rally.
Best wishes to you in the SCBR. Please post photos —especially of your Forza and other scoots so we can appreciate the mods. |

| Yes, your friend is Hammy, I remember him from the 2018 SCR. I studied his Forza and made up my mind to purchase one when I got home. I searched around and found mine pre-owned in Virginia and bought it. I sold my Piaggio BV 250ie that I had ridden in two previous SCRs. |

| Your Cannonball Adventure sounds great. Please post pics with short descriptions as you progress.
On which year SWing to buy, since they didn't change much over the entire model run, they are pretty much the same machine model year to model year.
The O2 sensor was introduced later on (I'm sure someone will chime in when) and the dash cover went from a matching painted cover with flimsier cubby covers to a more robust, textured black dash cover with much better and somewhat higher cubby covers. I've had both (on an '05 and current '09 model years) and prefer the '09 dash cover and lids much better. |

| Hello Mike,
Welcome on the site ! You can't make mistake buying a SW. I'm had over40 motorcycles so far and now riding SW's for 2 years and never regret to buy it. Bought 3 SW and sell them to buy newer one. Here in Qc., the newest one is the 2009 so it's what I have with only 18k kilometers.... Really like it. I purchase a new Corbin sadlle and enjoy every single ride on it.
Your welcome home anytime. Michel |

| Hi Mike and Welcome! If I'm correct the O2 sensor was introduced in the 2008 model and from what I've heard it gets better mileage and a bit of performance too. I have an 08 that I had converted over to a trike about 4 years ago with no regrets. It was a bit of a learning curve getting used to it but now I have no regrets. |

| Very nice Trike. I am doing my research on the SilverWing and I believe for price and value it is a good buy. While I have a 2013 Honda NC700XD and a 2014 Honda Forza 300, I could see the SW as a long distance tourer. |
