After lots of late nights reading on Facebook in several SW groups and offcourse on the SilverWing 600 forum and checking out the World Wilde interWeb. I made my one of kind backrest 2day. Took it for a short ride and I'm happy sofar. It needs thicker iron support, next week I'll check some shops in my town. For now it's a great improvement for riding in comfort. Hopefully I can finish it next week completly. Have a great day en Stay Safe Greetings from The Netherlands

I used black foam pipe insulation on mine, the tube type that has a slit in it for installing it over pipes.

Dutch Silverwing, greetings from North Carolina in the USA! I have been looking at the backrest you made and really like it! I must compliment you! May I please ask you whether you used the existing “but rest” and converted it into a backrest? If so, with what did you replace the but rest? Also, did you manage to cover the metal parts? A few additional pictures showing what you did would be appreciated! Also, how did you bend the metal support brackets to get the curves? Thank you!
