| The 500 extra ccs are tempting at 509lbs wet. The $10k price not so much. But still.... https://powersports.honda.com/street/cruiser/rebel-1100/specifications

| My last bike was a 2018 Honda NC750X with the dct transmission. It was as good as you’ve heard. Economy, sport settings or “manual” shifting with paddles on the left handlebar. Excellent transmission. |

Yes, I have been eyeballing them. Why did you switch to the SW? I am also looking at 2015 CTX700N DCT |

| Honda has been refining DTC and it gets better with a few tweaks after ten years or so. Feet forward thing is fine most of the time but sometimes after a long ride I want to stand up and take the pressure off my butt. I lusted after a NC750 last year, but they were late coming out with the whole Covid thing now I just don't want to spend the $$$$.
NC 750DCT msrp $9200 or so add a few fees and it $10K. 2021 was the latest upgrade to this bike and made a few improvements. |

Pragmatic reasons. I had just moved from Massachusetts to Virginia and couldn’t get the title transferred due to DMV being closed for Covid, and I needed a 4x4 diesel tractor and had too much money tied up in the NC750X. So I sold it. So after two years of being without 2 wheels, I decided it was time to get back in the saddle. So I “settled” for an affordable SWing. But I definitely miss the NC750X. It was an adventure touring type bike, with feet directly under the rider. I never had a cruiser style bike and the one time I road one I didn’t like it. |

| Ah... So it is a big difference with feet forward. I can see that balance would be much better with feet under butt. Is that comfortable for long rides?
Also, have people just mountef front pegs for feet forward option on an adventure bike for long, smooth rides.
Also, SWing is feet forward. Is that comfortable for you? |

Also, SWing is feet forward. Is that comfortable for you? It was comfortable for me on day trips. If I had kept the NC750X I would have fitted it with Highway pegs up front to stretch out my legs on longer trips. I’m still waiting for a state inspection and mounting new tires on my SWing so I’ve only taken it for a thirty mile ride so far. It was comfortable, but a different “feel” from what I remember riding a cruiser. |

However the seat looks more accessible on the Rebel or the CTX.
Seat Height:
2018 NC750X DCT 32.7" (83cm)
2015 CTX700N DCT 28.3" (72cm)
2021 Rebel 1100 DCT 27.5" (70cm)
2008 FSC600 29.7" (75.5cm) That one is similar to the one I had, although mine had a Honda top box and Touratech side cases and a lot of other farkles for a big guy for touring, including adjustable windshield, lowered foot pegs, bark busters and 2” handlebar risers: I had planned to take it from Maine to California and back, but a mini stroke made me lose my balance for a day a couple months before the trip, and I figured if that happened while I was out west it would definitely be a “bad thing”, so I reluctantly changed plans. I took an awd GMC Safari cargo van instead. Over ten weeks I traveled 12,500 miles, camping the whole way out and back, stopping at most of the big national parks along my route.

They look like a very nice bike, and the dct transmission will make a believer out of most. I’ve never sat on one. The only caveat I ever heard was that at 6’1” I might feel cramped on one. |

| I waited aprox. 4 months for the 2021 NC750DCT to show up, it was futile, test drove several CTX700, overall found it not a better/more comfortable ride than the SW600, IOW not worth it for me. The 2021+ NC750 is lighter, more powerful, lower seat height, more storage, more drive modes, led's, etc, etc. The only drawbacks IMO are, kind of basic suspension and chain drive(cheap components, as reported by lot's of owners), I would have preferred a belt drive, but like "Stevie Nicks" sang, "you will never break the chain". |

I’ve had two shaft drive Hondas, a Pacific Coast PC800 and an ST1100. I greatly prefer their shaft drive units. Maxi scoots are fine with belt drives but the NC750X would benefit a lot from a shaft drive. |

| Dude leaving here so soon? CTX should have more leg room and bigger wheels are nice. Ride On. Owned a 1999 Honda Magna similar seating position and a bit more HP 87 or so. Not fast but fast enough if twisted to higher RPM's. V4 750.
If you get passed by a black SWing it was me. |

| Silver Wing was pissed. Pushed the CTX over when I wasn't looking. The CTX fell into the top heavy tool box which in turn fell into the car, putting a nice scratch and ding in the car and making a HUGE mess. I ordered a center stand today, aftermarket as Honda doesn't make one for this model for some odd reason. This CTX is completely different from the SWing. If feels amazingly light and spirited. I am still getting used to the throttle! 1. Way more exposed, head, hands FEET? I had no idea. 2. No storage. Zip. There is a compartment on top of the tank that will hold a pair of gloves if you squeeze them in. It has saddle style Honda boxes, but I will likely just get a nice top box. 3. Touchy accelerator. 4. Harder to get on/off obviously. But not something I thought about prior. 5. This one is an automatic (DCT). Kind of cool. |

| How are you liking your new Honda? Is the dct close enough to the SWing cvt that you don’t notice the shifting much? I was always amazed how smooth that transmission was. |

| You will enjoy the new ride. There's always something to miss in the Swing when you go to another bike. Happened to me, too. But the DCT will help a lot to keep one of the great benefits of the Swing: Twist and go! Have fun! And when the novelty wears off, by keeping in touch with your Swing buyer, you might be able to buy it back. |

The DCT is very nice. One issue however is "Drive" goes to 6th very fast and kind of wants to stay there. Even down to 2k rpm. "Sport" sometimes doesn't go to 6th until 65+ and doesn't seem to like to go from 2nd to third. With both options I tend to need to intervene. I have opted to kind of Drive on the Highway and Sport in traffic and town. There is full manual mode which I need to explore. |

I just got on the SWing, and realized how much I miss it. I have the taller GIVI wind screen and combined with the fairing, you are extremely well protected from the environment. So easy to get on, and has a much more "deluxe" feel. Saddle bags and top cases are ok, but the storage on the SWing is just so convenient. The CTX feels more maneuverable. I think because the driver is more integrated. I can't complain about 60 mpg either. 17" wheels are a huge improvement over the SWing. So... I think I'll drive the SWing tomorrow. Still waiting on a replacement part from Partzilla so I haven't offered it for sale yet. The power and agility of the CTX could very well get me in trouble. |

Are you able to use the paddle shifters to momentarily shift down or shift up even when you’re not in “manual” mode? If I remember correctly that was an option on my 2018 NC750X and something I took advantage of in the situations you just mentioned, like when it shifts and stays in sixth gear. |

Yes, you can override (or shift down or up) the gear selection at any time. That's what I meant when I said "intervene". It does seem more responsive to this input in Drive mode vs. Sport. I need to brush up on it. I know it uses "fuzzy logic" and is even capable of "learning". So, nostalgic for the SWing, I took it for a drive tonight. Oh man... I didn't even finish. Turned around and came back about a third of the way down my usual "cruise" route. Just too boring lol. I don't mean to sound unappreciative of my SWing, but it's simply not as fun as the CTX. Possibly because, as I noted earlier, you are far more "integrated" on a motorcycle. Oh well, there's no reverse on either bike nor in life. Only forward! |
