| Well after 6 weeks got the scooter running. The bike had sat for 3 or 4 years. Fuel tank was dropped and what a mess in the tank. Got it cleaned, but fuel pump and filter were clogged up so ordered new pump and filter. The fuel gage sending unit was rusty and corroded beyond repair. Parts for the sending unit were on back order from Honda. I found on Ebay a unit that was recently pulled from a 2012 SW in good shape. Cleaned tank installed new pump, used fuel sending unit and filter. Primed the injectors and it cranked right up, running great. I have since removed the factory windshiel and replaced with a Givi, changed oil and filter, replaced air filter, checked brakes. The bike has 13,000 miles, so yesterday I pulled off the covers and inspected the drivebelt. No dry rot and very clean in the case, so will replace at 16,000 miles. I have a spare belt from a previous SW. Will replace spark plugs this coming week. Sorry for being long winded.
The diy repairs are because of this form and instructions/ videos that are provided.
THANK YOU
Ernie |

| Nice job! Really a shame when the prior owner(s) let it sit unused- mine was like that as well- only 4812 miles on it and 19 years old- required a resealed gas tank and fuel pump according to the most recent owner for $627 - sometimes mileage on a bike can be good as it indicates the bike didn’t sit a lot.
I now only put ethanol free fuel in it and never let it sit long. The water in E10 is no issue as long as you use the bike and empty the tank from time to time, but when it sits, you get ‘phase separation’ and the water does a number on the tank and fuel components. |

| BrianInVA found a complete Honda tank assy. for $264 tank, pump and sending unit. Part # 17510-MCT-010 That's a deal compared to just the pump assy. price. Looked around on one site $ 324 part # 10 on diagram. Happy it's running. |

| Thanks for the kind replies. Nearing 14,000 miles and planing on changing the drive belt & pins. Dr Pulley sliders seem to be popular here. Can you purchase & install or are there other parts needed to install? What are the advantages & dis-advantages? Do the 26g sliders work well for 1 up riding? |

Just enter Dr Pulley in the Search window (above, left) for lots of previous discussions. |
