My SW has now ~ 6100 miles on it (4800 when I bought it in May and I rotate the 2 STs with the SW, so not too much mileage so far).

I changed my belt due to age (the old one appeared serviceable and I’ll keep it in event of a belt snap, but in truth, that’s less likely so I’ll just put a new one on in 16K miles). My variator case air filter was not to be seen, so I have to assume it disintegrated with time so I used some white floor vent HVAC filter material that was cut to size (I wanted to use a lawn mower filter like I did on the PAIR system of the STs years ago which had a support mesh but those were not to be seen as available).

I put a set of Dr Pulley 26 gram sliders and cleaned it all up (and there was a lot of black in the region of the variator- cleaned it all with some brake parts cleaner). Also changed the final drive oil (that I have to assume is the factory fill due to the low mileage on the bike).

Next work will be new plugs, oil change, filter change if needed (I have all the parts) and then take care of some of the cosmetics of the bike.

Thanks to all as this forum was quite helpful. Tomorrow I ride!

Good to hear.

Since you’ve just changed the belt why not preemptively reset the “V” light now. Then you’ll be good until 77,000* 22,100 miles when your “V” light will come on for the “first” time (6100 + 16000 miles).

I didn’t mention that but reset the light as well.

I'm sure Tim meant that the V light will come on at 22100 miles? Don't quote me on that as I'll just claim the 5th.
