| Nice one Loosemarbles. A bit more relatable than Yogi Bear. |

| Nice pic ... very representative of what I see out the window. Sigh ... only about 4 months until the grass appears again. |

| Don't be too sad. The Silverwing in the picture retired to a warm garage where it was defrosted, given a hot bubble bath, a thorough clean up, a complete rub-down with a copy of 'Motorcycle News' and some new anti-freeze.

| I rode through a snowstorm once.
It was November in Rochester, New York. I'd kept the bike on the road longer than usual that year and rode it to a son's soccer game ten miles from home. At halftime the heavens opened and three inches of snow fell by the final whistle. The ride home was at glacial speed, very cold but interesting.
Now I'm blessed to live where I can ride every day. For those of you who wait for winter's end, a gift of haiku ....
Sleek steel silent now Dreams of flight on silver wings Soon they roar to life
Happy New Year to all! |

| Much better picture! I have ridden my Wing in the snow...ONCE. On the way to Monument Valley! Cold and some snow on the ground, roads were clear (mostly) but store parking lots were a bit hazardous |

| [quote="Delray"]I rode through a snowstorm once.
I'll never forget picking up my first Low speed Scooter (150 cc daymak) in March in Toronto and riding all the way to Richmond Hill, without gloves. Do you remember the scene from Dumb and Dumber when they traded their van for a scooter in the mountains?
Well I've learned a lot since then and now owning a SW for many years now, I have three pairs of gloves and heated handles.
All the other mistakes, well nothing compares to the gloveless ride to Richmond Hill in March Dear Riders.

| While we're on the topic; The Things We Do For Love:
At seventeen years old and missing my Girlfriend, who was training to be a hotel receptionist, 25 miles away, I decided to ride over on my CB250 to spend a cozy evening in her hotel room.
I went straight from work in darkness with sub zero, icy roads and snowing. I spent the agonizing journey with my feet on the ground while riding at 10mph and no feeling in my hands and feet. The pain in my hands when defrosting in her hotel room lasted for about half an hour!
We had a great evening but I had to face the return journey home some 5 hours later.
How on earth did I do that?

How on earth did I do that? HOW? LOVE, it's what makes the world go round and round and people do so weird things for it. |
