| Hi, Anybody knows which clamp replacement should I order for the original exhaust? I found many different sizes, not sure which one is our Silverwing. This is an example, https://www.wemoto.com/parts/picture/ay-y78-37-40 They have many https://www.wemoto.com/parts/search?q=exhaust+clamp&page=2 Thanks |

| Well, the original has two fasteners, although I don't know how important that is.
David Silver Spares has the OEM one in stock but it's not cheap.
Type these part numbers into David Silver's website 'search by part number':
https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/by-part-number/
Band/Clamp: 18373-ML7-920 Bolts: 90161-ML7-000
You might as well replace the gasket while you're there: 18391-ML8-000
The OEM band/clamp does have a specific fit with a little locating lug. |

| Thanks for the response.
The page you sent is marked as £24, not cheap for what it is.
The clamp of my bike is original and has only one fastener, it is 2010 version.
Probably I need to understand what 37-40 means in the spec, I don't think the diameter is for being totally close and open, I think those 3 millimetres might be the hose size tolerance?
Cheers. |

| If you can get the part number of the 2010 type and put that into the David Silver website it might be much cheaper. My parts catalogue only goes up to 2004.

| Hi Yusepe.
What the 37-40 means it will clamp any pipe with a diameter 37mm to 40mm. And should be the correct clamp for a Silver Wing OEM muffler to manifold connection. Now you know the size you need, try to find a 2 bolt version.
Hope this helps.

| Or just use something like a metal hose clamp. That's me planning ahead. I need a new rear tyre and I suspect when the exhaust comes off for wheel removal it will FUBAR the clamp. |

Be safe, be seen! It helps a lot, good point. Now I can find something not original similar or better for the corrosion and not expensive. Cheers. |

| That sounds interesting. I always thought that the muffler had to come off so as free-up the brake calipers by unfastening all the pipes and cables, so as not to distort them.
Do you have a pic? I would hate to think that I've been giving myself extra work.
Is there a certain amount of dexterity involved?

| I'll take a photo tomorrow (it's getting dark here in South Wales). I remove both calipers and they will go up over the exhaust and sit on the floor, there's a flexi pipe on the brake line which allows this. I use a scissor jack under the rear axle, unbolt both shockers and lower the axle until the wheel is on the floor and it can then be removed under the exhaust.
