PostSubject: Front Cowl   front fork removal - Front Cowl I_icon_minitimeWed May 31, 2023 11:29 am

I am in need of the front cowl on my '07 wing.
A previous owner had a minor accident and it broke a few locking tabs on the left side at the dash area.
I would like to find a replacement .
Any help here?

You didn't mention which colour but I suspect it's a matter of eBay searching. There are plenty of parts out there. Unless, of course, somebody on the forum in the States has one, in the right colour.

I have one or two missing locking tabs but not so as you'd notice. I have considered using plastic rivets. They can be inconspicuous when well fitted.

I couldn’t find a fender nowhere it was listed as out of stock then I found CMSNL and they ordered one for me and took about 2-3 weeks and a genuine Honda part was delivered, excellent customer service, they’re located in the Netherlands.

I got mine for the 03 on babbittsonline.com (like Partzilla)- I was lucky to source one as well as the left lower cover (couldn’t get the right) but now my SWing looks nearly like new- had some broken bits when I first got it from some no speed drops in the prior owner’s garage. I think I paid ~ $470 shipped. You need to transfer all the metal clips over to the new one (so all the screws and bolts can find their home), so that takes a bit of time (and whatever plastics is broken on your existing front fairing maybe missing the clips, so keep that in mind). It’s work and expense, but definitely worth it to make it close to new condition again.

Hi,
Try www.hondasportpartswarehouse.com, I've had to replace some body parts over the years on my '02 Swing and they always seem to have had them. (Accidently backed into my own RV bumper one time and broke they rear fibreglass). I recently needed just the catch to latch my Rt. glovebox closed (the non locking one). They even had that small part! Good luck in keeping your .07 looking new.

Clips were damaged on both sides of the dash before I purchased and I fixed each side with sex bolts and the panels are held in neatly and snugly. If your problem is same as mine, you need to drill upward at an angle so the the outer head will rest squarely against the panel. Cost almost nothing and looks good.

Sex bolts can be found on Amazon, hardware stores, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Usage is fairly widespread. The first I ever saw were used to hold papers together after passing the papers through a hole-puncher. Search for "image of a sex bolt".

That’s a really good repair…in my case, there was a decent degree of paint damage as well, prompting me to get a new one- if I got the old one repainted, it would likely cost near what a new one was.

Hey Wingman... Thanks for the info on the "sex" bolts... I believe I have a bag of those laying around somewhere... just didn't know that's what they were called... never too old to learn... Laughing
