new to this site but thought id share my invention.i own a 2001 silverwing and do alot of touring on it however everything is perfect with the bike for me except the tank range.so heres what i done went to my local bike breaker and found a plastic scooter petrol tank that would fit under the seat fixed it in got some petrol pipe and a tap then plumbed it in to the breather on the original tank.the original tank then couldnt breath so got another tank cap off a cbr125 which fits straight on with a breather in the cap.now i run the bike for around a 100 miles turn the tap on then it fills the original tank back up.i have tested it i carried a petrol can with me and ran both tanks out and got 252 miles.it is gravity fed,i held the back tank in with mastic and it breaths via a pipe which goes straight out the back of the bike.there is no smell of petrol under the seat and tested it now well over a 1000 mile no leaks no petrol comes out the back and ive been down some very bumpy roads and some silly lean angles.dont ask what the tank came of cos the breaker didnt know but my mate has now done the same thing and his is a different one just has to slot under the seat at the back.as a safety i disconected the light at the back so its not live near the tank.look at the pictures to see what i did.[img][/img]
