Heated Grips Empty
PostSubject: Heated Grips   Heated Grips I_icon_minitimeMon Oct 02, 2023 11:04 am

I installed a set of Oxford heated grips yesterday in preparation of cooler rides here in Ontario. The install was easy enough but the cord from the battery to the front could have done with being 6" longer. It took a few attempts to get it where I wanted.
Since buying the SW a few weeks ago I've felt the bars were a bit too close and low. zrx212 sent a photo showing how the bars can't move much without the bars hitting the Givi windshield. My mirrors are nowhere near hitting the windshield on full lock so I moved them up a bit. The plastic fits fine and I suspect the lady that owned it had them moved back towards her. It's not much but it's made a big difference for me.
Ride safe, Charlie

Changes in handlebar position are acutely noticeable. There are supposed to be handlebar-to-stem alignment marks to show the proper position but I'm darned if I can find mine.

I made my own scribe marks for alignment the first time I removed my handlebars but I still find it tricky getting that 'sweet spot' which suits the plastic and feels right.
