As I recall there are different types of Iridium spark plugs. One type requires a special ignition coil/wires which most vehicle cannot exploit. Another type is just Iridium tip which does not require require special ignition coil/wires ... the Iridium tip does not wear as quickly. I checked the original OEM spark plugs at ~9000 miles to check the gap ... I ended up replacing. I replaced with an NGK Iridirum tip spark plug which has been running ~34,000 miles. |

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/part_finder/motorcycles/step4.asp?id=1030&type=ir NGK CR8EHIX-9 Iridium is so hard for normal usage (yet brittle if you incorrectly try to gap the plug). Trying to change the gap could damage the ceramic or electrode ... so I used to the factory default gap ... which was just a tad under. |

| What miracle solution that generally cost more than the engineered solution of the OEM do not work?
Now what am I going to do with all of that snake oil? Say, did you know that snake oil is really slippery and can yield up to 800 mpg in the right conditions? Plus, it is chalk full of super slippery additives. |
