For those who installed the HyperPro springs,Did you re-use the OEM Honda spacer for a little pre-load or just dis-carded it?

Jeff,

I had mine by the dealer so I can't tell you what they did. I would think they would have just changed out the stock springs with the hyperpro's. I will say that it gives it much more of a motorcycle feel and was well worth the money.

I left the OEM spacer out when I installed my Hyperpro springs.

I really can't imagine how you could possibly fit the spacer and the new springs in the tube, as the Hyperpro's are considerably longer than the fork tubes by several cm's. IIRC the OEM springs are 327 mm, and the spacer is 60 mm; the Hyperpro springs are 365 mm long, progressively wound and of heavier gauge spring stock.

You won't need any preload with Hyperpro's --trust Hyperpro on that.

Hi Jeff,

I installed Hypro front spring 2 week ago, I hesitat to put in a short length space back( 1" to 2", cut from existing space) with Hypro Spring during mechanic fixing, but finallly i didn't because just want to felt how is the Hypro Spring work.

After try for last 2 week, felt much improve compare to original, better absorbing and more firm. Is acceptable for me.
But compare to my previou bike like Cbr1100, cbr929 or rf900 (Actual can't compare this way), still felt a bit soft under the hard brake condition.

Currently, my concern is to upsize front disc from 256mm (2001 to 2007 model) to 276mm (2008 and above model). Don't know just purchase (2008 and above model) brake caliper bracket and disc, can work?

I suspect that spring changeout is much the same as changing my Goldwing's OEM fork springs to Progressives. In that case both springs and spacers are removed and only the new spring installed. It took a lot of effort to get the fork cap back on due to the stiffer springs. I changed them for better handling in the twisties to help my old barge keep up with my brother's BMW. The stiffer springs fore and aft got me just enough increase in ground clearance that I can stay with him in the fastest sweepers without dragging metal. I don't know if I'd want to change my SW's springs, stiffer ones usually give a harder ride.
