Silverwing 600 Rules !!!

Hi,

I was just wondering the other day about 2 things:

1) Do I have any rules for this site?

2) And if I do just where are they?

I'm really just kidding since I don't remember ever listing any rules. I don't have any plans whatsoever about making any but after getting banned it just made me think. I just hope we just continue to be respectful of others and have fun. Please continue to post links or others sites that are of interest and that others may like.

Like the song says "Don't worry; be Happy".

I'm probably setting myself up to be B----D elsehwhere but... if a person makes the choices he/she has by banning people from their site.... He/She is obviously in it to glorifiy their ego more than they are for the betterment of building up the bike and its base of loyal fans. It is a shame to say the least.

My experience on this site has always been very positive. If it ain't broke, then no fixin' needed. Everyone has always conducted themselves in a very nice and decent manner and I'd expect nothing less from the great people we have here on this site.

This is a great site. thank you for posting so much helpful information. I have received answers for question and been sometimes relieved and sometimes encouraged. I know that I have much to learn and I'm enjoying the ride, the Silver Wing and the fine folks I have meet along the way. you are more helpful then you may realize. Thank you

Now you guys know that when I said this place is great in my introduction post how much it must be true since I can't even figure out how to get my mirrors off without assistance.

I did find that other place first and decided (before I even heard about any animosity anyone had) that this place was a better place to find information and ask questions.

Why? It's not really anything specific I can put my finger on, except to say that this site seems much friendlier and accommodating to my stupid questions. That one seems somehow colder and more condescending.

It's just a feeling and it may be unjustified, but it made a difference to me.

Jeff I do remember reading some vague refference to just two rules somewhere on here:

1. Have fun.
2. A disclaimer that this is a family site so keep the content clean.

To tell you the truth... I still don't have any animosity about the other owner, rather just a disbelief that he is like that. If he thinks that others only visit his site and only his site is unheard of. Thanks for enjoying the site and hope you continue to be active here. But I can promise that I will never ban anyone for going to other sites, or even saying they like another site better. I just do this for enjoyment and not ego.

I would just like to commend JeffR on what he has done to provide this site. And from all I have read he is a real Gentleman. By that I mean he has never gotten on the derrogatory bandwagin so many people do. I'm sure he spends a great deal of time maintaining this site and producing the "how to pictorials". I just really appreciate where he is coming from....And by being the kind of person he is brings about the family and no rules atmosphere we see here. Thanks Jeff...................

I was just about to post an answer on the .org forum to a basic question that I could answer. Then I thought about how all the good people here have been harangued while having those same good intentions. I quickly closed that window and clicked on my bookmark to check in here. Home sweet home.

I should have been more clear, I meant animosity TOWARDS this site from that other site. I learned about it eventually, but I had already decided I was better off asking my stupid questions here because of the coldness I perceived over there.

The funny thing is, that even before you started this site, when I visited the "other" Silver Wing site (AKA the Silverwing site that shall never be named?) the three people who helped me the most with information about my Swing were you, Dan S, and DennisB. Now that the other site manager has seen fit to ban the three best sources of information from HIS site, there really isn't any reason to go there anymore. (other than to let other Swing owners know where they can get their questions answered).

All kidding aside, this whole thing just seems really silly to me.

The topic heading says it all. Silverwing600 rules! And it's great to have a ruler like JeffR and all his loyal subjects. I have learned so much just reading all the posts and I like the product endorsing and dissing. Then I can make up my own mind based on other peoples experiences. I'm too old to learn from all my own mistakes.

I pretty much limit myself to website forums where the people are welcoming, congenial, like to help each other, keep it clean and aren't prevented from mentioning another site that has something useful. Personally I only visit two forums much, Steve Saunders Goldwing Page which I believe is the best on the 'net for Goldwing owners and anyone interested in them and this site for Silverwing fans. This is a well run and friendly website I certainly enjoy my visits here and hope to be of assistance to someone now and then.
