| Guys, My wonderful wife, let the cat out of the bag and asked me what I wanted for Xmas.............., so I answered her question and waited for the hammer fall............, she said ok. . What I said was I wanted a T-Max 500, and here it is Sunday 11.21.2010, I have a brand new T-Max in my garage, with one mile on it. The weather is lousy here in SoCal, so she will not be ridden for a while. The reason I wanted a T-Max was I wanted a bike for canyon running, and the Wing is just not up to the task. I know that the Wing is not designed for that purpose, it had to be a scoot, so I chose a T-Max. The Yamaha has not been very popular here in California, so there are lots of them available. Mind you, the 2009 T-Max lists for $8099 (Yellow), we purchased at a local dealer for $6499 plus tax and license, $7199 OTD. The riding position is decidedly different than the Wing, but it is 60lbs (Wet) lighter than the Wing. The instrument cluster is fantastic, the fit and finish is on par with Honda. There are no cheap throw together bits on this bike. The suspension/brakes/injection systems are all first rate. Ride report to follow, as soon as the weather clears. And yes I am keeping the Swing, she is my touring bike. Thanks, SW2010 |
