| My V-light came on again. I didn't see my mileage when it came on but I looked at my mileage when I got home and it was at 38,710. So I guessing it must have came on at 38,685. It last came on at 22,685 and I reset it so it has been 16,000 like it should have. I still don't understand why it didn't come on 16,000 but it seems alright now. |

| Roger, i.m.h.o. the most likely reason is that someone (accidently) reset the V-light on 6685 Miles. Trying to rest the clock the wrong way or so??? |

I changed the belt when I had Dr.Pulley sliders put in at 32,500. So I will wait until 48,500 then I will have 16,000 on this belt. I kept the belt that I took out at 32,500 as it only had 10,500 on it and I thought it would make a good spare. - rodenbach wrote:

I usually do all my own work. Except when Terry(bigbird) put the Dr.Pulley sliders and belt in at 32,500 and made a video of it. we did not reset the V- light then(senior moment). But I did reset it at 22,685 the first time on. I don't think I accidentally reset the V- light on 6685 Miles, but who knows I could have had a senior moment. |

| With Dr Pulley sliders now V light can come on any time for no specific reason(rpms to miles ratio interference probably)....so from now on all you have to do is reseting |

I have had the Dr Pulley sliders in for over 6,000 miles and the first time the V light is 16,000 miles after I last reset it, so I think I'll be ok (rpms to miles ratio). I feel the V light will not come on until 16,000 miles has passed. When I change the belt at 48,500 miles I will reset the V light and it should be back on schedule. |

| micbusathens, I understood what you meant. I was just saying in over 6,000 miles with the Dr Pulley sliders the V-light has not come on so I don't think I will have a problem. I have had my Wing on the highway and in town at all speeds and the V-light has not come on. So I think I'm alright. |

| If I'm not mistaken: press both "MODE" and "RESET" buttons (trip/clock) HOLD both buttons pressed THEN turn the ignition key to "ON" still honding both buttons down. AFTER TWO SECONDS the V-light should lit up. TURN OFF ingnition. DONE. |

| I have Dr. Pulley Sliders and have had them since about 12k miles on the wing. My v-light came on at 16k like it should and I reset it and it has been coming on every other day or every three starts since it came on initially. I had the belt changed out at 14k because I was having some other issues with a noise coming from the clutch area. Any ideas? I had the sliders in for 4k with no issues and since 16k the light has been coming on. Does anyone have a photo of what a new belt looks like? I am curious to see it since I had them change it out early and I brought it in for a new rear tire install the same place that supposedly replaced it told me that I needed to replace it. Hmm |

| Rarch, thanks for the input. As I hadnt really measured the belt the only thing that I have to go on is visual inspection right now. I assume that the belts are all tapered or kind of trapezoidal shaped, is that correct? |

| You don't need to take off the belt or any special measurement tools, a ruler will do.
Check out the Attachment on the 3rd post of that topic, read the black text on how to measure the belt correctly. The coloured text is the wrong method that 'most' of us do but may give you an indication... |
