| Hey, Bob is trying to put a Vista Cruise on my Swing. Any advise how to remove the trottle grip. When I bought the Swing it had larger aftermarket grips on it. Which I like. He's working on it now. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks. |

| Cut them off.
Or thin blade screwdriver under end, shots of WD-40, until driver is at inside end, then should twist off.
There is a way to pop them off with air, but never worked for me.

| If they're glued on, the only way is to cut them off as John suggested. If they're just pressed on, a blast of compressed air at 120psi between the grip and the bar will cause them to balloon and be easily peeled off. |

| Thanks John and bigbird,
Bob got the grip off with quite a bit of work involved. He can't cut the grip to make room for the Vista Cruise because the end is metal. Doesn't have the right type of blade I guess.
We were going to put the originals back on but found that the grip was glued onto the throttle sleeve. Bob couldn't get the sleeve off so we will put the grip we took off back on for now.
We will probably try to order a new throttle sleeve and buy new grips or grip puppies for the original grips we have. I would like to have the Vista Cruise for our planned trips this summer.

| For future reference ….
Grab a wire coat hanger from the closet, the thicker the wire the better for stock rubber grips. You may need to find wire thin enough to fit in between the metal on the grip and the throttle sleeve / bar. Cut to a length double that of the grip. File one end round as possible, no sharp edge is sufficient. Insert between the grip and the bar / throttle sleeve and work it in to the hilt and pull back just a tad.
Bend the end sticking out to 90 deg. With your hand on the grip squeezing with just enough pressure for the wire hanger to grip the rubber, spin the hanger you just bent with a free finger. The wire will work itself around the inside of the grip separating the glue. When you have all the glue unstuck between the two spray some LPS between the grip and the bar / sleeve with the hanger in place and remove the grip undamaged.

| I just received my grip puppies in the mail yesterday. Installed them in about 10 minutes without any problems. I went for an evening ride to see how they feel. They are awesome!!! It has to be the best $10 upgrade you can do. Less road vibration and more comfort. Hard to beat. I bought them for $9.80 shipped from here: http://www.casporttouring.com/cst/motorcycle/GPSMALL.html
