| tpetrone,
The addition of foot pegs is an often talked about subject. One member on this site, Dan (dspevack) has them. He had them installed by Joe Wolfe (who lives in Kingsport, TN). If you live close enough to Kingsport you could give Joe a call and have him do the task for you. I do believe that Dan wrote a pretty good write up about the install on the www.sliverwing.org site.

| I was thinking of getting some this summer. In our riding group we have a couple of riders with B650's and they have them. They live in the hot part of the valley and say they really help keep them cooler since the air will go right up their legs. Plus they do look nice too. |

Dennis, I want you to think of a way to apply wings to the scoot. There are time I feel like I am a pilot. If you can just get me a little over tree top high, that would be better. |

| I remember what Dan said about this at the time. Sounds like we may need to schedule an Oklahoma Fish Fry. Kinda shows what Dennis is willing to do that Honda Dealers won't. And I hear Kingsport Tennessee is pretty this time of year.
Dan said on 7/19/07
By Dan Spevack Date 2007-07-19 02:03 IP 69.84.110.246 My Honda Dealer installed it. They also made a point of telling me they would never do another one. Too many hours in it to figure the mounting, when they could have made a lot more money doing standard stuff.
Don't forget Joe in Kingsport does a different install. He makes certain parts and welds them to the frame, and attaches the pegs to that. I think his install is more sturdy and pretty than my clamp style.
Of course that's a drive to Kingsport Tennessee for the install.
No disrespect to Honda Dealers or Joe in Kingsport. |

don't take it to heart, I was using an old Lancaster (Oldham to be exact) turn of language. The person who taught me to play darts (I already knew how to drink beer) used terms like that often. |

I turn my toes outward as far as I am comfortable and the rest my heels as far up the front footrest area ... I get all the breezes I need and can ride in that position for quite awhile. Free foot pegs |

| Ta hell with PETA, in my book the more cats we skin the fewer there are to crap in my yard.
Sure there are -- deep fat, low fat in a frying pan, non-fat in a non-stick skillet to name a few.
My wife will disagree with all of the above, she likes cats and claims that I have cooked (fried or otherwise) nothing for the last 51 years.
All in fun, except that we have been married since Oct 57.
Thanks a lot for the PS. |

| Coralee its an awesome mod as I did my own instilation because as comfortable as the bike is im 6-2 and needed more leg rom. Though my knees are still bent they are alot wider and so much more comfortable and also I can stretch totaly out and rest my akeelies ( spelling ) tendon on them as well. I can send you photos of my peg install if you wish and print them and get an idea to someone who welds or has the ability to install them. |

| Thanks, I'll think about that. Sometimes with my boots I wish there was a bit more room on the floor boards. I'll ask at my dealership also. They are a great bunch of guys in the back who have really been a help to me. I know I could change the oil but I take the bike in for that and have them check everything over for me. I'm terrible I don't want to check anything I just want to ride. My goal this summer is to check the tire pressure twice a month. |

When I dealt with it I had help in the form of someone who spoke Japanese. Some of the website will translate loosely when you put it thru babelfish.com But you're going to need a native reader to translate if you seriously want to order. Dan |

| Hi Dave, Took a look at a couple of very good bolt on location under the scooter for foot rests. Been busy putting together a bolt on trailer hitch. Not to many strong mounting points on the back of the swing for hitches. Winters coming... maybe I'll get a chance to take a better look at foot rest mounting points. DennisB |

| For us old dirt bikers, a proper foot peg located closer to under the butt would be very welcome. I've had the Swing about a year and a half now and am not used to the "cruiser" and or "living room chair" seating yet. The Russell seat helped a little, but it would real nice to have my feet further back. |

| I have Kuryakyn ISO highway pegs on my Goldwing, they help on long trips because you can't get your legs as far forward on the GW as you can on the SW. As for looks I think the bike looks better without them. If you want more breeze on you in the summer though Baker Wings are hard to beat. I don't like their looks on my GW but they sure bring in a lot of wind in the summer and turned outward they help keep cold wind off you. The GW has a lot larger fairing so the effect ought to be even more so on the SW. http://www.bakerbuilt.com/bbairwings/hswaw.html |

| Dennis is really handy with this stuff. I think if he can figure out a way to secure a base bracket to the frame that accepts kuryakyn gear, then he will have created something that all Silverwingers can use, while still allowing for freedom of individual expression from the impressive array of pegs and boards that kuryakyn offers. |
