Ride to Dixon, Illinois - pic of Ronald Reagan's Boyhood Home

A few of us battled the spectacular weather we had in the midwest Sunday. We had temps in the mid 70s, light winds, crystal clear blue skys, and low humidity. We took all back roads that added up to about 200 miles roundtrip. We had a nice stretch along the Rock River, however my out of date GPS had no way of knowing a road closed on the way back, so we just started heading eastward on whatever road. Well, we got deep into farm country and the roads kept on getting smaller. At one point, we rode about 4 miles on gravel roads. Kept the speed around 40 mph, until we got back on to pavement. Here's a picture of Ronald Reagan's boyhood home in Dixon, Illinois. His family moved here in 1920 when he was 9.

Was a great weekend in Northern Illinois that's for sure. Bob and I went out for a ride to Savannah and up to Dubuque IA and back down on the Great River Road. My first time riding along the river. We rode approx. 400 miles that day.

My sister-in-law is from Dixon, I have seen Ronald Reagan's home but not is such great condition. I saw it many years ago. We do go through Dixon quite often.
