| Hasn't the DN-01 been discontinued now? I seem to remember a while back 01's going for half price and I'm sure Honda said due to lack of demand for their overly pricey auto bike they had taken the decision to stop manufacture. Google isn't my friend today on the matter!!!! (Could be I'm wrong.) |

Hmm, well Google worked okay for me. They certainly do look interesting. It does look like 2008 and 2009 are the only model years. Prices are down on them from $14,000 to $8,000. To have a 680cc V-twin with 17" wheels it might be worth it - or just let it go for awhile and see if the price drops any more if you're serious about buying one. |

| Tom, all Google displayed for me was old 2007/8 data, as were 3-4 years on bit old hat. Nothing new found and I didn't have the umph to plow through pages of DN-01 info just to find they don't make them anymore!! |

| The joke at the dealership was DN01=Do Not Order 1 Personally I like the bike. Haven't had time to test ride one. But if I liked it at the test drive and could get my Swing running as a trade in I would. My needs have changed since I bought my Silverwing. I no longer do group trips or long trips, so I don't need the storage I used to. More like around town and to work and back, where a top box is enough room. Maybe after the rainy season I'll be able to devote money to getting my Swing running. Then I'll see if I want to sell and try an automatic motorcycle. For those interested there is a forum http://dn01.org It is run by the same person who runs silverwing.org |

| Well just took a trip over to the Honda site. The DN-01 doesn't make an appearance on their current inventory of available motorcycles.
Kinda answers my question at least. |

| Regular MSRP was $17622 but this is for 2009. I'm pretty sure it's discontinued but if I was looking for a new bike, at that price I'd consider it but would have to add a top box and/or side bags. Somebody called it the "BatCycle". Hasn't gotten good reviews though |

| Do a search on Cycle Trader. You'll find many dealers offering the 2009 model new for $8000. At that price it's much more attractive. I think the reviews are done by motorcycle only folks who just can't wrap their heads around a crossover automatic. I also think the same is true for scooter people who are scared away from something they think is too much for them. The market is indeed small. Really only attractive to people who love both motorcycles AND scooters. In my experience, there just isn't that many that fit into that category (present company being the exception). I hadn't heard about this bike and I have to say I'm likin' it. I may just grab myself one. |

| I actually re read the reviews and they're really not as bad as I recall, mostly that it was overpriced - cjuzda wrote:

| Bigbird,
A couple of the gadgets I put on conflicted, and I have a short. Then I got injured skiing and couldn't get back on it comfortably even if I wanted to, for over a year. Funding for repairs hasn't been there, and it hasn't been really important to fix. It's been 2 years or so since I started it up.

+1 (for a different reason) I like the "idea" of the dn-01. They had 2 at the dealership when i picked up my Silverwing in march of this year, sat on it, rode it around, and instantly didnt like it at all. When and if, and im sure they will, come out with the next generation of autotrans, i would probably get one. The way the transmission felt when i was riding it, i couldnt help but to think, strongly, that if they reconfigured the bike it would make a very interesting adv tourer. But then it would have to be pretty bombproof as well. The adv guys arent going to support something thats not "dont have to think about it" reliable. None the less i really thought it would make a good adv bike, transmission wise, the style and price? fugetaboutit. |

| The Honda E4-01 is the scooter I'd be interested taking a serious look at in if it ever gets into production.
I think it would raise the bar and create a new class ... "super scooter" ... especially if the engine is around 900 cc the way the prototype is rumoured. ~ sonuvabug ~ |

| I believe it was test platform for HONDA new transmission idea. Feet forward, no weather protection, price, high handle bars helped it to be flop and no center stand as I recall. Not really for serious riding. |
