| Well Hello Everyone, Isn't it amazing who you meet on-line?! Some familiar names I see And all those posts from JeffR... Anyone would think you run the forum... Hmmmm Perhaps we should shorten your initials to JR Thanks for the email Jeff, this time it only took me a few days to realise someone had emailed me and not a month.... So am just in time to say "Happy Christmas" to everyone! So hello, I'm Bernardo. Although I was at work today, the weather was dry and fine here in Buckinghamshire UK, if a bit overcast, but I was fortunate enough to be able to enjoy an unexpected Xmas treat, by going out for a ride, back to back on my scoot and then my bike.... As you can see, I have a Silver Wing, 2003 with a few mods which might well have been the cause of my mid life crisis, or perhaps it is the main machine that has helped me surf through it...... :D And I'm still surfing strong.... I am looking forward to joining in here and sharing information, ideas, trials and tribulations, and making a few more friends..... I take it, it's OK to admit to riding a bike aswell Jeff.... You're not gonna "black ball" me are you? So for now, after a few hours work, a spin out on the bike, and dinner with family, I am gonna chill in front of the fire, watch TV and experience more Xmas cheer with a nice drop of malt..... Wishing you all a very Happy Xmas and loads of that Xmas cheer And good weather Bernardo |

| Bernardo, Thanks for joining and even though you own a m/c I guess we can still welcome you. Merry Christmas to you and I think some of us would like to hear of your mods, for those that haven't read them yet. Maybe you can do a quick cut and paste from the other forums you post on. For those of you who haven't read Bernardo's mods, he went from 37 hp at the rear wheel to 44 hp at the rear wheel. That is a huge improvement. Ride safe, JeffR |

| Hi Bernardo, Hope you had a Merry Christmas. I see in your photo that you have the Laminar Lip and ears installed. What is your take on that system?? I've been thinking of going that route more because of its adjustability.

DickO 2005 Black ABS Stock Harveyville, Kansas Merry Xmas In short, I think they are excellent! I can recommend them. They make a noticeable difference to weather protection, and wind noise. An added advantage is that I think they improve stability at high speeds. In fact I even fitted a pair on my bike... I'll make a seperate post to the mods section in a few days or so when I recover from the Xmas Excess Hi Jeff, I take it that your intention is for "mod posts" to go in the appropriate forums here, so am happy to add some stuff about my exploits and findings (even if some are cut and pasted from other forums!). Whoah, nearly burnt the bread in the oven there.... (am cooking breakfast at the moment! ) What I mean is, do you envisage a seperate section which just has specific, factual, mods and conversation about them continues elsewhere, or should any further discussion / comments be kept in the same thread? Cheers :rendeer: Bernardo

| Bernardo,
Yes, feel free to cut and paste your mods in the "Mods section" if you would. For some that haven't read them I'm sure they would enjoy it. I will work on the profile to see about a signature card. I was wondering about that too.
Ride safe,

| Bernardo,
This is just a "Test Reply". I'm playing with the Signature card. I just want to see if I did it correctly.

| I'm sure that Bernado has a better reason, but all of us old farts remember when Brit chrome turned blue if the Trumpet or Beezer was running a bit lean. lol!! |

Hi There! It's an aftermarket exhaust silencer, which apparently is made from titanium and "anodised" to look blue and purple. It is not designed for the Swing, but for an XJ 1300 Yamaha. I got it as a rather good "Hobsons Choice" deal when my thoughtful and handy local bike specialist said he could adapt it to fit my S'wing, before putting it on the dyno to tune up the power commander I had fitted earlier. If you look closely at this photo without the exhaust guard, you can see he used two bits of interlocking stainless steel exhaust tube, and circular clamps to make the fit. The photo at the top of the thread has a grey exhaust guard which I also got cheap, but off E-bay. It was originally purple and you can bend it to fit most shapes.... I thought it was too garish, so I painted it to suit the silver of the S'wing... Alas when washing it the other day, the paint began to flake off.... It now looks like this....! Actually it doesn't look too bad, with a slightly distressed feel about it, it suits my older 2003 "well used look" S'wing.... It does go considerably faster than it used to, and now sounds more like an older cruiser twin than a modern Scoot. It is a lot of fun to ride! But then so are all the S'wings! | The end of that last email I sent has two web addresses, which should have come up as hypertext links to two videos.... (mainly so you can hear the new exhaust) but alas the link has fialed for some reason. have already edited it once... Nevermind, if you want to see/hear the video clip, you can try copying and pasting the addresses into your web browser, or try these.....
