A subscriber to my Tumblr had this to say:
"I'm reading this forum discussion in which a bunch of people are saying scooters aren't "manly."
Screw that noise.
If I had the cash, I’d go buy a scooter RIGHT NOW. Those things are crazy efficient.
People could laugh at me all day long and I wouldn’t care because they’d be the ones breaking their banks to pay for gas and I’d be like “LOL I’M GETTING 100 MPG.”
Come to think of it, if I get enough money next semester I might actually buy one. We’ll have to see what happens."
I like his attitude.
Scootering in the United States needs more of this View on what scooters are all about! Granted, its not all about M.P.G.'s, for some it may be so.
For others it may be "green" , God knows America sucks up more natural resources than anyone else on the planet.
For others it may be "lifestyle". Hard not to get caught up in the excitement when you see huge Vespa club gatherings, or how much fun a Royal Bastards scooter club meet is.
In the long run, attitudes about scootering in America need to come of age, we need to unshackle ourselves from our pretentious "bigger is better, im richer than you cause i have a huge SUV" thinking, and get the wing back in our hair, and a smile on our faces.
Thats all, just needed to say that!
