| Hi gent's,i seem to have a problem that i cannot sort out.The scoot has been left for 1 week while i have been on holiday Today i went into the garage to start it but nothing happened, the battery was dead.I coupled another battery from my other scooter using jump leads but still the same,i checked all the fuses tried the engine stop button several times but nothing, there is no power to any of the electrics at all and that includes lights, horn, ignition, dash and clocks .i have also checked the side stand switch. It seems that there isn't any power either to or from the ignition switch. have had a quick look at the ignition and cannot see anything wrong. Is there an easy way of checking the ignition switch without taking half of the bike to pieces to get at the wiring loom and multi plugs. There was no problem with the scoot before i went on holiday so why won't it start now.Any help would be most appreciated. |

| Heh Heh Heh, that dang under seat lamp (globe,Light etc etc ) strikes agin' dag nabbit!
Take out the globe and the recharge the battery and see if it runs flat again. If it does it could be the battery.

| Thanks for the reply,i took the under seat bulb out months a go so i knew it wasn't that, but a bit of phoning around for some more info solved the problem, the one fuse that i hadn't checked turned out to be the culprit. 1x 30a fuse to the starter solenoid under the L/H side case had blown.New fuse fitted and the scoot started straight away. |

| I had totally forgot about that fuse but i have a spare engine and wiring harness and after being told to check the main fuse i found out where it was on the spare harness.I replaced the one on the scoot and the rest is history.By the way it took me longer to replace all the bits i had taken off than it did to replace the fuse.Next time i will check before i remove too much, but all good practice.Once again thank you all for your input. |

| There is alway's a reason when a fuse is blown .
If you did this with the jump leads, the battery was dead. (because the bike did not start)
(let) Check your battery; charge system ; unwanted source of decharge .

| Hi Eddy just done a voltage check at the battery.12.2v with engine not running. 13.8v-14.2v with engine running between idle and 3000rpm.It seems that every thing is working as it should, only time will tell, will check again tomorrow. |

| Charge system seems pretty good.
I hope the lights and other loads were off? 12.2 Volt is to low for a battery. Means.. only 25% capacity.
How is the start???
I advice you do a complete charge of the battery. Let battery rest for 4 hours. Monitor the Voltage.
Minimum 12.6 volt .
