| My Dear friends,
It is with great sadness, that I must put my beloved Scootzilla Silverwing up for sale. From what I remember it has under 40,000 miles on it.
I used to have a deal with a local dealership which gave me excellent repair prices, and a mechanic that was up on all my upgrades. The dealership was two miles from my house. I could ride the bike there, walk home, and pick it up when it was ready. Life was good. That dealership closed, the mechanic is gone, and breaking in a new mechanic at full prices at a dealership far from home is just not worth it to me.
I no longer do the grand touring thing and don’t need all the things I put on my bike for local use. One lucky person is going to be the proud owner of a 2003 Silverwing with unique one of a kind upgrades that you wont find anywhere else. Asking price: $12,000 Why so high? Keep reading.
Here is a link to the thread with most of my upgrades on it: http://silverwing.org/cgi-bin/topic_show.pl?tid=458
Here is what’s on the bike, and in many cases this does not include the installation costs:
Corbin Seat $400 http://www.corbin.com/honda/hsw.shtml Backrest $220 http://www.corbin.com/honda/hsw.shtml Motolights $345 https://www.motolight.com/ Xenon lights $400 http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Motorcycle_Xenon_HID_Conversion_Kits_s/34.htm Alarm $455 http://www.scorpioalarms.com/products/motorcycle/sr-i500_trs6/ Alarm includes Perimeter sensor ignition disable battery backup Givi Trunk E-52 Maxia with brake lights $360 http://www.giviusa.com/ Givi Trunk Mount $95 http://www.giviusa.com/ Givi Luggage Rack $70 http://www.giviusa.com/ Clearview Windshield GTXL $300 http://clearviewshields.com/shop/product.php?id=29 heated grips 1 inch wider than stock $135 http://www.hotgrips.com/ Hyperpro Springs $171 http://www.hyperpro.com/products/springkits.asp Stebel Nautilus Compact Horn $40 http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productlist/539/accent lights Garmin Zumo 550 GPS https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=135&pID=414 $800 Comes with POI and red Light files XM Antenna for Garmin $200 Contract still in effect. (Kuryakyn) Signal Sorcerer $20 (Magnet that helps trip traffic light sensors. Custom designed Hand Protectors $300 03-07 Dash upgrade $150 Cigarette lighter charger: $40 Japanese side cowls fiberglassed-in with side lights $600 Additional set of acrylic hand protectors from Japan $150 Custom built in handbrake lock, Prototype I designed and had built but never patented. Worked for years flawlessly. $300 Custom mounts for Chargeguard Tire pressure monitor, and GARMIN GPS. $200 Custom knight rider led for use with Alarm since it has no visual status indicator stock. $100 Trunk Light upgrade using Honda part that adds manual switch to light $30 Side marker led Eagle Lights and Front fender eagle ornament for better side views $150.00 Rubber edge guard for front fender and side panels $25 ________________________________________________ Total accessories(in most cases without installation costs) $9271.00 That makes this bike worth over $14,000 with parts alone. If you gathered together all of the parts above and asked most mechanics to install all of them at the same time, most would call you crazy. Those that would attempt the install, would call you a few other things when they started getting into it. Labor would be several thousand dollars without a doubt. Many things here are custom and required skilled subcontractors, such as welders.
So what’s wrong with the bike? 1. Tire pressure and Chargeguard displays were mounted but other wiring for these devices never properly finished. 2. There is a short somewhere. 3. You many need to buy a replacement remote control for the alarm. 4. Never could get the installed Headlight modulator to work properly with the Xenon headlights. 5. Some tabs are broken on front faring as a result of a mechanic that didn’t know how to install it properly after the upgrade to the Japanese Side Cowls. 6. That’s it. That’s all that’s wrong with it!
An enterprising person should be able to right the wrongs in short order and have an incredible bike. The paint is good, the Windshield is good. The Garmin is good. What else would you like to know?
Terms are simple. Full amount on pickup, or full amount plus insured shipping costs prior to shipping. The bike is located in Miami, FL. USA. I am very well respected in this community will continue to support my friends here, so I have a reputation to protect. That is the only assurance I can give you that my statements are honest. That said, the bike is sold “as is”.
I would also be willing to trade for a DN-01. |

| That is an amazing list of extras!!! I'm sure you have worked so hard and made all those decisions and it will be very hard to part with your bike. Hope the next person is excited and appreciates all you have done with it. |

| Dan,
As someone who has benefitted from your efforts I wish you well.
I would add that your asking price obviously reflects the additions you've made to personalize the SilverWing to your taste. That last part about personalization is important as these additions were your choices and may not reflect the desires or personality of someone else. Additions by another name are alterations. In light of this I find your signature line telling - "Reality is irrelevant. Its perception that counts."
That said, I do indeed wish you well on selling the scooter. You've made good and useful contributions to the SilverWing community. |
