| Forummotion recently announced the ability to view the forum via both classic and mobile versions (you can toggle back and forth).
So I played around with some administration options (Display tab changed Theme version from phpBB2 to phpBB3) the mobile version became visible.
I do not know if there are any negative side effects, so let me know if anyone notices any forum difference (other than mobile).
When in Classic View goto bottom and click Mobile View link to toggle.
When in Mobile View goto bottom left side, in hard to red blue letters is the Classic View link.
In Mobile View, I did not know how to create a new topic (will have to investigate later) ... so I flipped into Classic View.
Any other observations or tips please post in this thread. |

| I have been off the forum for a while but see there is a change in layout on my laptop - pictures on the right, different font.
Not sure if it has anything to do with the new release. Still good if I reduce my magnification to 75%. |

I read some more the Mobile Version is in Beta mode. The Beta mode only allows read only viewing. Currently the schedule for non-Beta mode is unknown ... So for now Classic Version would be required for anything else. |

| O.M.G.!!! The font type is way too large like this. And it looks like everything is in 'bold'. I.m.p.o. not an improvement, sorry... (I guess this is the 'classic view' , but I can't find how to change between 'classic' and 'mobile') |

| @Scooter Jo: me too, I restarted my PC, had a look at the browser settings, used a different browser (Chrome instead of Firefox), but nothing seems to change this font type. It feels like the text is SHOUTING at me. I can now read this on my 23" screen from +8ft away. It's not because a lot of us are 50+ that we all are visually impaired...

Very clear instructions.....NOT! Go to bottom of what? C'mon, either restore the view to Classic, or give us some UNDERSTANDABLE instructions on how to do it ourselves. |

change is good! (not that it is necessary or even desired). |

| If you still want a Mobile version, dudamobile.com converts the pages automatically for you and only shows the mobile version if you are using a smartphone. Free for a year..... then you pay if you can't live without it. You embed a line in your home page that figures out if you are a PC or mobile device and which version to feed you. I thought my smartphone had a virus when I first went to www.parklawnsailingassociation.org and got the different view. |

Silverwing600 Mobile version
Since I'm reading from a large PC screen, I'd prefer to take advantage of it. The note widths in this version are pretty narrow. |

| chindog, you say "At the bottom of this thread, this shows up in the light blue bar: Silverwing600 Mobile version" Are you referring to the blue bar at the bottom of the last post or the bottom of the page? At the bottom of this page, my screen reads " Honda Silver Wing Scooter Forum :: Tips on using this site". At the bottom of the last post reads "Silverwing600 Mobile version" This is normal, it will tell you what the subject is at bottom of the last post. At the bottom of the page it will tell you what part of the forum you are in. If you want to fill the screen in Firefox go to tool bar at the top, then go to view and then go to zoom and zoom in until you like the size of the page. You can also just use the "ctrl and +" keys to do the same thing. I hope this makes sense to you, and I hope this is what you mean. |

Duh, I never considered the topic would be at the bottom of the last post! That is obviously what I'm seeing. I thought it was telling me the version of the browser interface I was using! I am such a dufus!! The control+ key combination doesn't work, though. It just adjusts the size of the text, but the window size remains the same. I've got about 1/6 blank screen on each side, with the middle 2/3 of the screen filled with the forum windows. |
