| Only scrub and more scrub, not even a billboard (good) but you will see wedgetail eagles and roos, and the occaisional emus and camels an dingos. The wedgies are majestic |

| What an interesting read these posts are. Meldrew, like me prefers to ride alone. As for our little Island, makes you wonder why so many people from all over the world want to come and live here, and want British Passports. I retred at 52. and never go more than 3 days without riding. Being retired, like most things in life, is okay, if you have enough money to live as you want. |

| By god mate if you caught a real wedgie you would be shredded, let alone be uncomfortable. 6 foot wingspan, talons to lift a rabbit or two and a beak like oversize pruning shears. Lots get killed and maimed on the highway while munching on roadkill. |

What is a M.A.R.S.? Are the TWO Givi Top Cases mounted atop each other like a British Double Decker Bus? So, who says you don't do 'farkles'?

So, if my understanding is correct, when the 'motion alarm' turns ON you are alerted that your scooter is moving so it is time to 'put up your feet' AND when it turns OFF it is time to 'put down your feet' less you fall over? Now that is quite a 'farkle'!

| I just turned 73 last month. Still riding the SW to my school bus driving job in the morning (6:30 ish) when the temp. has been in the upper 20's. I LUV that cool, invigorating, morning air! (trip is only 6 miles, about 10 min) Homer |

The GW is so smooth and quiet a lot of chronologically accomplished fellows like me are apt to forget the bike is still moving and step off. |

| A wedgie is also a leg separating uncomfortable bowleg forming distrraction here, but the word Wedgies ref eagle's has been around for much longer. If you move around OZ the eagles are quite common and you can get very close to them. |

What is a M.A.R.S.?
Are the TWO Givi Top Cases mounted atop each other like a British Double Decker Bus? So, who says you don't do 'farkles'? M.A.R.S. is the Meldrew Airflow Retention System, the mods that I made to the Aiflow after losing two top sections, and it works. I have two Givi top boxes because the E52 was also used on three previous maxi scooters, but I now prefer the E55. All my soft luggage like Ortlieb bags, saddlebags/panniers, and tunnel bags have been used on previous bikes and scooters, Having a selection gives me the choice to tailor the amount of storage required for rider or rider/passenger touring. My latest purchase is a Garmin Zumo 350 LM motorcycle sat nav and though expensive it's hardly a farkle. It's got UK, Western Europe, and Scandinavian mapping, can be used on the scooter or in my car. It's weatherproof, has a 4.3" sunlight readable screen, has Bluetooth connectivity to helmet intercoms etc, and I've got another micro SD card with full USA/Canada maps ready for a holiday next year. My Silver Wing is bog standard, no Dr Pulley, Hyper Pro, or other needless stuff allowed, needed, or wanted and will remain that way. |

| Meldrew,
I just purchased a Zumo 350LM. Got to use it for the first time today. Was using my old Nuvi 360 up until now. I like the Zumo so far. Bob has the Zumo 550. I wanted one that was waterproof and that I could see better without a zip lock bag over it. Has a lot of nice features. |

| Sign of old age: GPS Why? Because now its: how soon will I get there? I need my sleep!, What times dinner?, what's the quickest way, I need a rest room and I don't care where! I forget the way to my daughter's place, I like the sound of that nice young lady talking to me, insteasd of telling me where to go..... no wait, thats what she is there for. Why is she talking to me.... oh yeah the hitchhiker..... The youngun's don't get lost, don't care, find a tree and just go faster to make up time, don't forget where they are going and remember why they are going where they are going in the first place. They just have GPS to add bling.
BTW I've got 3 in case a battery goes flat or I need a second opinion and a spare.
Lucky most of the roads are straight. |

| Kurt, do you really need a satnav in Oz? I thought everything except Alice Springs (which must be signposted) is on the perimeter road so if you keep going long enough, you'll get to the city you want!!

| Australian GPS systems are upside-down. They tell you where you are coming from rather that directing you to where you want to go!
