I hope to have enough €€€ to make a lot of daytrips on the SWing in 2013.

One of the goals is the Pont de Normandie - which is some 330 km (+/-200 Miles) from where I live.

Summer holiday will be by car, I'm affraid. (June -> Norway)

Rode over the Pont de Normandie in 2008. Just off the ferry at Le Havre and on our way to the Viaduc de Millau - now that is a bridge. (Even better from below).

Hopefully the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain or the Route des Grandes Alpes and the Route Napoleon. But both have a short period where the roads are bound to be open (June, July, August and September) so France maybe on four wheels if riding buddy can't get a second pass-out from his missus!)

Cheers,

Drove from Carcassonne to Millau in 2010 through the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc. Visited Saint Afrique (!) and goat-cheese town Roquefort on the way. A very recommendable road for motorbike-riding!

I would like to do several day trips and short trips such as my week long trip to Yosemite last year. I want to hit the "four corners" area. This is the only place in the US where four states border each other. This is also the Monument Valley area where so many John Wayne and other classic movies were filmed!

Here are the links to the three .kml files for the day we did Mende, the Tarn Gorge, Millau, A75 back to near St Chely d'Apcher. In total over 175 miles in glorious sunshine. Obligitary stop at a supermarket for drinks (and air conditioning to cool down a bit - also there is a petrol station so refill the tanks).

Brew and a something to eat at the car park at end of Millau2 before finding our way back to the A75, which must be one of the most picturesque and fun autoroutes / motorways in Europe.

Well worth looking at using Street View on Google Earth. (You will need to have Google Earth installed to view the .kml files).

I've just bought a 2010 Smart ForTwo Urbanstyle with a view to using it for €uro touring this year as an alternative to the Silver Wing. I've toured abroad exclusively on two wheels for the last 30 years, so why not.

I'd love a good ride out during the summer, but unfortunately my dearly beloved is not up for touring on 2 wheels.

My scoot miles will be mostly commuting, with the occasional trip alone or with the local IAM.

She has some cage trips planned though ...

I'll just dream of a trip down through France

Why dream, you could easily get the ferry from Portsmouth to Saint-Malo and spend a few days riding in Brittany on your own.

Ah, a crossing we've done many times. We used to own a house in the Gatine Hills and travelled from St Malo, to Rennes, round the Nantes peripherique and south on the A83/E3, then east on the D949.

You're right, I'm sure she wouldn't miss me for a couple of days
