I've been having some ankle and foot problems the last few days and am on the mend today. I was out on the SW this afternoon and feeling very happy to have it and not the GW. Not having the foot operated brake and shifter made it a lot easier to ride when gimpy. I was going to take the Jeep but didn't think I could comfortably manage the clutch very well right now. The SW was just the ticket. Not to mention it felt good to get out in the warmer (45F) weather today. There's just something about taking a ride on a two wheeler that perks a person up.

Sorry to hear of the foot problems but glad that the SW is rideable for you. I had mine out for a short ride yesterday also; 40F but with a gusty wind. Froze my face but it was worth it!

Very interesting. Hadn't thought of the sore foot et al scenario. The SW would make things easier glad it worked for you! Took mine out for a 60 mile hop on Thursday. Temperatures were approaching 70F so no problems there.

I remember seeing a picture of a fellow with prosthetic lower legs and feet riding a SW. It might have been on this forum a couple years back. He remarked that he often rode in short pants to surprise people. The lack of any floor mounted controls was a real benefit to him.
It was to me again today, just the thought of having to upshift my old GW would be enough to keep me off it. But the Silverwing is easy to ride with a gimpy ankle. I just have to remember not to put that one on the ground when I stop.

Glad to hear you are on the mend and out riding again. With a fused left ankle and a right knee replacement, I can identify with leg problems. I, too, stopped riding for about a year when the GW became to much to handle. The Swing has allowed me to enjoy two wheels again. It's was spring like weather here, late January. Friend and I made a nice ride up the west side of the river to Natchez then thru Miss. back roads for about 300miles one day last week. Fantastic ride!

Better a Silverwing scooter than a Jazzy scooter. Getting old ain't as much fun as one might think. Smile
