In the process of planning my Summer Holiday to Scandinavia, I was looking to buy a good fish-filleting knife, thinking it would be a shame to pass along thousands of lakes without trying to catch a free meal.

One of my oldest and dearest hobby-blades is a wood-carving knife made by Frosts in Mora, Sweden. After nearly thirty years of use, it's still sharp as a razor-blade and rust-free. So I googled for it's web-site and got looking at all the well-crafted stuff they have on offer. I found over a hundred different types of knives to choose from.

And all of them have a name and description, since one doesn't want to buy a skinning-, bread-, or butcher-knife when one wants to fillet a fish.

But who the hell would ever want to have a ...

Depends, it's important to consider the environmental impact when evaluating the workload, and your potential involvement in a project.

The curve can be extremely helpful if you want to use it standing up.
its easier to stick it in the fish if its curved.
