| Givi Luggage (topcase)– is there a way to use their mount for something other than their luggage, say mounting a dog carrier? About a 40lb dog so the backpack type solution won't work. |

| If you remove the monokey plate (the thing like a toilet seat!) you should be left with brackets that are bolted to the swing luggage rack.
It should be fairly easy to bolt anything else to those.

| 40pound dog on back way up high=might get you killed----GIVI box with hole cut in top works for under 10 lb dog----but you can still feel him there. My last dog, Moose rode to James Bay/Alaska/Baja/Europe/Korea that way. Old age got him.
GIVI "ears" can be used to bolt something else to. |

| Is isn't the size of the box, it is the weight high above and to the rear of the axle.. 40 lb dog needs big box, too. |

You don't have this? Perhaps you have this? Whichever, the same principle should apply. The monokey plate will be bolted to metal plates (ears) which are in turn bolted to the bike. Remove the monokey plate and fix your dog box to the metal ears. However, comments above re weight and balance are valid and should be heeded. |

I want out and took another look with topcase off, I have view #1 I see - Under the monokey plate Valid points on having weight behind axle I'd like to retain the quick dismounting feature of the monokey system to mount different case/carrier. Guessing from the alt suggestions that you can't buy only a part that's the equivalent of a case attachment part seperate from the case? |

| Givi dealers have a manual of replacement parts for every top box and side case in their entire range, just about every component is available. |

| I shouldn't think Givi include the part that fits on the plate in their spares list as it's an integral part of each bag and box. |

| Yeah, I wouldn't recommend a 40 lb dog on the back of the Swing either. If you want a safe answer (if not an inexpensive answer) I would recommend the Bushtec Tow-Tow trailer. Quite happy with mine! https://www.silverwing600.com/t4519-dog-trailer |
