| Hello everyone from Tel Aviv, Israel. I just bought my SWing 600 on Friday. It's a 2009 model with 39,000 KM (24,000 miles) on the clock and am looking forward to doing many more kilometers on the clock. So far I love it but have to get used to the weight and the way it tries to straighten itself out when you take a corner (is that normal?). I would love to hear what kind of mileage this bike can do if taken care of according to the manufacturer and any tips you experienced members are worth knowing about for a newbie like myself. One last question, I have read that replacing the standard air filter with one from K&N will help boost both fuel economy and performance. Have any of you also had the same experience? Thank you and I look forward to reading all the posts to learn. |

| Hi and . Regards the handling, you will get used to it. Regarding K&N or similar filters, they are supposed to have better airflow than standard and maybe would benefit more with a different exhaust but I personally have no experience yet on the Silver Wing because I have the standard filter on mine and only running it on a Dyno would tell if there would be a difference. The benefit of a K&N is that it is washable and therefore re-usable. |

| First off, welcome to the site and the wonderful world of the Silverwing. Second - jspiero wrote:

Aftermarket filters can yield a few percent more horsepower than the OEM filters. The power difference and mileage improvement are small enough that you probably cannot feel or measure them. There have been many tests done on filtration performance of the OEM filter, the K&N style filters and the foam filters like UNI. Both K&N and UNI oiled foam filters flow more air than the OEM filter. The K&N flows the most air but filters out slightly less contaminants than the OEM. Oiled foam, filters out the most contaminants of all three types. People with some Honda products buy sheets of the foam filter material, remove the paper in their old OEM filters and replaced it with oiled foam. I have always felt that Honda has spent a lot of time and money in the design of these scooters and I can't go wrong replacing expendables with genuine Honda parts. |
