| Hey guys,
I was checking the oil last night on my 2004 Swing with about 5300 miles on the clock and I noticed my oil has a fairly strong odor of gas. I changed the oil at 5200 so it only has 100 miles since last oil and filter changed. Seems like I remember the last time I changed the oil it also had and odor of gas. The oil looks perfect, clean with a light honey color. I only use the recommended Honda motor oil. I get 50+ miles per gallon so I doubt that is fuel leaking into the oil. My concern is that over time the gas can wash away the oil on the bearings causing engine failure. It would be interesting to hear from others about this if you check your oil by wiping the dip stick on a paper towel then checking it for the odor of gas.
Thanks!
Gary

| It could be that you've got a leaky fuel injector. While you are parked for the night, etc, drops of fuel could be leaking into the cylinder, past the rings, then down into the crankcase.

| Fuel pressure regulator has started to fail. The regulator diaphragm develops holes, gasoline is sucked into the intake manifold by way of the vacuum tube that operates the pressure regulator. Order a new regulator O-ring when you order the new regulator. |

| That sounds very likely, thanks for the suggestion.
